Sorry i was speaking in the context of Rolex in this instance and in regards the Sub or SD.
I agree with your additional aspect in regards a tool watch. A Sub or a SD in TT or even PM is still a Sub or a SD. Same ratings and spec regardless of metal utilised. I have worked with a lot of guys Brits and Americans over the years who wore both TT Subs and GMTs in a whole host of rather hazardous environments. What i have noted was there was far more Americans wore TT than Brits. Better taste more likely, although we thought probably better paid ha. My team did have the pleasure of escorting a real salt of the earth, good ole boy oil guy from a very well know outfit. To inspect some of the Well heads in a rather not too welcoming a place. He sported a rather nice and shall we say with a large amount of "patina" YG DD. His assistant was wearing a Sub TT Blue, that i believe was a long service award from their company. The lads who knew watches were mighty impressed. |
