How sketch is this transaction?

I need some feedback from fellow forum members about a watch I'm selling.

I got a message from a guy who has absolutely "ZERO" posts on a forum yet only one positive feedback with a different seller. I've been trying to get in contact with the seller who did the transaction with him and haven't gotten a response yet.

*Scenario*Basically the buyer wants me to meet with his "sister" then have me ship the watch to him. I found this kind of odd since usually once payment funds change hands, the seller would do the same with the item.

Any reasonable feedback or opinion on this would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like a scam. Is the purchased located out of state? I would just pass and look for a new buyer.

Forget that deal! Something not right about this. Is the sister going to meet with you, look at the watch and pay you? Then, you're supposed to take the watch and payment away, and then you mail the watch to the buyer?

Or, is the sister supposed to authenticate your watch by looking at it and give the okay to her brother to buy it?

What would make sense is if she looked, paid you and walked away with the watch to mail it to her brother on her own.

Either that, she's just gonna grab the watch and run or there will be some people waiting to jump you. Not worth chancing this whole thing. Find another buyer......Period!

This is the scenario... He lives elsewhere, but his sister lives in the same city as me. I asked him wouldn't it be easier if he had his sister ship the watch to him, no response to that.

Imo, Nobody in their right mind is gonna let the seller (who they don't know) hold all of the "chips" and trust that they're gonna do the right thing and mail off the watch. I'm really suspecting that this could possibly be a grab and run plan.

Perfectly legit....

Sister shows up.
Distracts you.
Then you wake up and it’s Xmas and you don’t have that watch anymore

Nope.
Just nope.

“Sister” & friends methinks. Risk? Your soul may be separated from your body...
That’s one scenario.

If this is eBay, then pay attention to their guidelines about face-to-face transactions. If PayPal is being used, you are really out on a limb.

The other scenario is meet the “Sister” at your local police station. Many jurisdictions offer this type of safety for F2F transactions in these CL hijack times.

Oh, and have the desk sgt. aware of this meeting.

Too many buyers to risk dealing with that. I’m almost at the point where i will not meet in person any longer. I have zero risk shipping it. You just never know anymore. I have met some really great folks selling watches over the years but it’s risky.

The woman will be very attractive.

Scenario 1. She will smile seductively, make great eye contact, then proceed to lure you to a private room where you be greeted by her 6'7" brothers.

Scenario 2. She will smile seductively, make great eye contact, then offer you a drink. You will wake up in a few hours, remember nothing, and the watch will be gone.

Trust your gut. Personally, I'd walk away from any exchange that causes me to pause.

I have a super low number of posts, as I just started posting this week...even though I've been a member since 2015. I was a long time lurker, using TRF for research and browse the classifieds. I always try to keep that in mind when messaging people about perspective purchases. I work in law enforcement. You should always trust your gut when it comes to these things. I can't tell you how many crime reports I've taken where someone told me, "I had a bad feeling about it too." Listen to your spidey sense.

In this case, you could skip the gut and sense part and go straight to logic.
