Looking good! What bracelet is that! I was checking with the Blancpain Boutique, they told me that there wasn't any bracelet available to fit the milspec hodinkee edition :\

Yes, there is a x71 bracelet which fits the Milspec Hodinkee edition. Same steel bracelet which was offered on the Milspec of 2017.
I got one for the Barakuda. Reference is BR.C.-01.5008.11
Good luck!

This is sick!

Does the bracelet make the watch wear bigger or the same?

That looks great on the bracelet! Are there any special tools required to install or size it?

No, but it needs straight spring bars with tubes. While the links appears like a mini hexagon, a normal Rolex style flathead is all that’s needed

Yes. A size 0.9 hex driver is needed to remove screws from the links.

Hex-Plus, 0.9 mm x 40 mm https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0001P18O6...ing=UTF8&psc=1

I ordered the OEM Blancpain 20mm tropic strap (used on the No-Rad reissue that uses the same case) and it contacts the case even when using the OEM curved spring bars (and I had to source a buckle for it).

Then I ordered a custom curved-end strap from Jean Rousseau that had to be redone (came in the wrong size). Then ordered an Erika's Originals that fits great. But not sure why BP put the holes in the lugs so close to the case, there was plenty of room for them to move the holes 1-2mm down to give it more clearance.
Wait. I'm a bit confused.

You're really saying that the OEM tropic strap doesn't fit? Is the strap supposed to "contact the case" or not in your opinion? See the new No Rads LE pictures attached. The strap seems to contact the case.

Also see the two hodinkee LE pictures I found, looks to me they fit well. Also the clearance is small and it looks strap contacts too.

Would you please show a picture of your watch fitted with OEM tropic strap?

Thoughts?

I guess it depends on what you consider fit. he OEM tropic does "fit", but it sits against the case. If I'm not rocking a bracelet, I'm used to/want a little bit of clearance between the case and strap end. Straps with curved ends fit the BPFF 40.5mm models way better than the OEM tropic does just because the middle portion sits flush against the case.

Understood. And thanks for the explanation. Strap with curved end fits better with clearance.

My confusion really is: Is the none curved “rubbing” tropic strap the isolated issue with Mil Spec Hodinkee, or is it the intended design that applies to the LE of Barakuda and No Rads coming out of factory?

OEM tropic is the route I’m going to take and your experience concerns me :(

I asked the boutique (where I got it, I didn’t get mine from Hodinkee) and they said that’s the way the strap/case are designed and not to worry about it. Regardless it still bugs me :-)

Inaccurate and no response

Have become a regular customer until recently. Ordered an item and had it sent “next day delivery” for an additional $40. When I was notified that its not going to arrive until 4-5 days after order date, I sent them an email asking for a refund of the extra shipping fee. I got an automated reply saying they would answer within 24-48hours. Needless to say no reply. So, needless to say, I will buy my watches and accessories elsewhere.

My better half picked up this preowned reference. As others have said, it's pretty incredible in person compared to some of the photos — especially with the bracelet. Here's our his-and-hers standard 5015 and the Mil-Spec with a celebratory pizza, lol.

How does the brushed coin edge bezel react to outdoor sunlight - does it reflect like a typical bezel, reflects lot less or no reflection?

Really love this watch. Might consider buying one soon in the future, but the price hasn't come down as expected.
