Latest scam doing the rounds
Hi all,
I don't know if this has been covered but I thought it would be good to share it. It seems that, currently, scammers are able to morph the number/email that shows on your phone to your AD phone number/email addresses knowing some information about you. If you phone the number back you will go to the genuine AD who won't know anything about telling you about the watch. What they might know: What watches you have registered interest with The SA you spoke to when you registered the interest with the watches The AD store in which you registered this interest with. They simply ask for an online payment with the promise of a click and collect service for the watch. I know of a couple of cases within the UK currently and with new releases coming soon these scams could become a lot more wide spread. The biggest question I have is, how do they know this information about you? Database hack? Or is someone passing on the information for a back hander? Thank you for taking the time to read and I hope no one gets caught out by this. Sent from my EML-L09 using Tapatalk |

This from Paul Thorpe on YouTube from 10:54:
BIGGEST ROLEX SCAM in history and why I ALMOST didn't tell you about it Biggest in history may be overstating it but has anyone on the forum had a brush with this new lockdown scam? In addition to the above, Paul mentions that as well as spoofing the outbound Caller ID when calling you, the INBOUND number has also been temporarily re-directed in some cases so that when you call back on the published AD number, your call is diverted to the scammer who has also fooled BT Openreach into re-routing calls. Be careful out there! |

I did see a warning post about this on here a few days ago. Well, there's always bad apples in the world. Unfortunately, we'll never know unless they publicly disclose that they've had a data breach of their central records or data leak of some sort. Or maybe they haven't good practise on data disposal and opportunists have been dumpster diving. On the bright side, if the details did come from a central database then it's nice to know that they haven't binned waiting list client details. lol. Would be great to see YouTuber Jim Browning apply his expertise on this.

If the scammers can hack the AD’s phone book & email, why do you think those scammer only operate in a certain area/country. Don’t you think they can do to other AD in other area/countries?
It’s clearly some one from the AD itself give away/sell these client infos to the scammers. Cheers... https://www.instagram.com/fliegerb777/
