This year new releases for ladies were also available for purchase on the same day. A guy in Taiwan already posted his 5711 green incoming.

That 5990 is a beast.
It’s easy to criticise and I guess I am I just hope Patek haven’t gone down the green path due to the hype from Rolex. That would be my greatest disappointment

the same guy got all three refs - he has a crazy watch collection by all accounts and so must be at the top of the pecking order

Looking at the pic above I don't like the mods to the date. I prefer no frame and the old font such as on 5711 blue. That font has the vintage / timeless vibe of the watch itself whereas the new, fat font looks very modern and a little out of place in my eyes.
Other than that the green one has been growing on me overnight... |

Where is your incoming post? I would have expected you to get one, or does the green stick out like a sore thumb with all your other blue dials

Have AD's started to inform people as to whether they will or will not be receiving an allocation to these pieces?

I'd still prefer the 5740 though if offered either of the two. |

Not quite sure yet but the most exciting sports watch release last year IMO and topping the green 5711/1A in terms of want. Hoping for new dial colors for the Streamliner although I am slowly warming up to green.

The blue dial on the 5990 is awesome! I wish they used that color on the 5711 1/r.

since none of them will be possible at retail...
the issue is that i bet grey prices will be at least 5 times for the 5711 and 2x3 times for the diamond and 5990R... at least... unfortunately.

does anyone have any idea or guess on how many will be made with the diamond bezel versus without. I am assuming a 10/90 split?

I spoke to the Patek Salon last week and they said they have received their allocation but didn't indicate any numbers. |

Yes, but then again no matter how much money you spent with Patek I think they will not look kindly on a collector that immediately flips for profit. These watches go precisely to their loyal customers, people that buy and keep their watches.

If these watches continue to go strictly and precisely to their loyal customers, people that buy and keep their watches, then how do the greys continue to keep getting brand new unworn pieces every single month of every single year for the past x years?

Apart from the fabulous 5236, these are so uninspired. Lovely watches, sure, but hardly exciting.
They missed a trick to broaden the appeal of the Calatrava line, despite having dabbled in it before with the NY pilot and new manufactory LEs. Increase water resistance, quick-change bracelets and leather and rubber straps, steel (just for giggles) and it'd be killer. So's the one on my Czapek. |

Thankfully all of today’s releases far more interesting than what’s going on with the 5711 / next iteration Zzzz
