Any chance of an SD43 in a Singapore AD?

In a few weeks my wife will be up in Singapore and I was considering asking her to visit the ADs in search of an SD43 126600.

I've been looking for this piece since 2017. Visited all the ADs in KL on a recent business trip and the situation there is just as dire as it is in Australia....

Are stock levels in Singapore any better than the rest of SE Asia? Thanks for any market intelligence you're able to share, including any views on preferred ADs.

Thanks!

If I am not mistaken, its the same situation there. There's quite a few good greys there if you fancy.

Any chance of an SD43 in a Singapore AD?

absolutely not, can confirm - even half gold is rare to find these days! our gray market dealers though, may have some stock, and not at extravagant prices either!

i can't think of anywhere that is significantly better than anywhere else since its a world wide market.

The only exception may be Saudi Arabia but its really hard to get a visa to go there so its not part of the worldwide market in the same way. Lots of AD pics from there shows more stock.

Thanks for the feedback and tips everyone. I won’t get my hopes up then. Personally reluctant to go grey but if I haven’t sourced it ahead of my next birthday I’ll need to take that step.

If you want to have some marital conflict, go ahead and ask her to look around. You will end up with nothing.

Please pay a premium at a grey if you are interested.

That's interesting, because I'd assume even though they are not as integrated into world trade, other GCC countries would scoop up their inventory pretty easily.

It seems like Rolex is shipping many more SS/Professional models to the US than to Asia. There is no way you'd find a SD43, DeepSea Double Blue, SubC in an AD display case in Hongkong.

I meant citizens of other GCC countries, AFAIK they have easy travel between each other. But yeah, to get to Saudi you do need a visa as of now, but they are planning to make an e-visa, so who knows.

Luckily this revenue doesn’t sell for significantly above it’s MRSP. In this case I’d go gray

The watch was in a wall cabinet. All I know was it was black and stainless and it wasn't a sub. Had the red lettering on the face. I didn't have my glasses on as I was not interested. I asked for a Pepsi and got the look. Store was packed . Every sales desk was busy with customers. I would guarantee they have a Pepsi and Daytona in the back for high rollers. Wempe across the street was busy as well.

they are both Wempe

Outside of christmas AD's seem pretty light with foot traffic, so its good that they are busy. Maybe they are getting more watches

Just looked on the rolex website at a sea dweller 43mm. just about positive that is what I saw. 43mm is too big for my wrist and I already have a sub.Plus I ain't payin NYC sales tax.

My sources tell me that there is a 0.0023% chance.

So definitely there's a chance it will happen!! ;)

are you sure it wasn't a DSSD. There was an epic thread once when some guy said an AD had two SD43's ... no one believed him so he went back and took pictures of the two DSSD in the window

I was there yesterday as well. I find it.extremely unlikely that happened. Someone bought Sub date and even that piece was brought out from the back/downstairs.

SS models like that and SD43 do not ever hit the display cases. I speak and know the mgmt team well.

Perhaps you were mistaken with the Deepsea because that was on display (not JC version )

I’ve seen stainless sports models in smaller markets AD’s. Everything from Explorers, Subs, Sea Dwellers and Deep Seas.

I’ve stopped at 4 on a recent road trip through the gulf coast all had models in the displays cases.

Could have been Deep Sea. Like I said, I did'nt put my readers on. It was in the wall display behind the counter on the right side when you walk in. Kind of in the middle of the two counters.
