Thanks everyone, I really enjoy reading everyone's responses. My dad was a great man and he had a wonderful spirit for life. Thanks again for the condolences. I have written a note to my son who will receive it and a note to my other son that will receive my other one when my time comes. I want them to know about the history of the watches and to make sure they pass them along as my dad did for me.

Thank you for sharing such a personal story with us. My deepest condolences -- I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your father, especially in such a short time following his diagnosis.

The vintage Explorer 1016 he left behind to you is a stunning watch. I can't think of a cooler "dad's old watch" one could receive from their father's collection. I truly hope it puts a smile on your face every time you look at it going forward -- it's a beautiful heirloom that will always remind you that he is with you.

My Dad passed in 1983. I think of him and what a wonderful Dad he was almost every day. I have his Omega Constellation, that he purchased in So. Africa about 1960. I've had it restored once, and recently serviced. I'm smiling for you and myself for both being very fortunate guys. Enjoy.
