Why is the 15300 expensive? =/

Serious question.
It's not too far from the 15202, which will probably hold value much better.
The 15450 37MM is a little on the small side, and the 15400 is a little on the large side; hence. I am looking for the 39MM.

The 15300 makes no sense with the current price though.

I can find a very lightly used 15400 for less.
Even saw a brand new 15400 go for less.

because many find the 15300 more attractive than the 15400 is my guess.

Exactly. 39mm is the perfect size for RO. The 41mm 15400 is nice but it inevitably looks "bloated" especially when compared to 15300 or 15202.

Supply and demand. 1. It's discontinued = lesser supply. 2. High demand due to the optimal size of 39mm coupled with the seconds hand makes it the ideal RO for many.

These watches used to be easy to find around 9k...In fact, lback in january i passed on a black faced (no box or papers) at 8000 from a dealer. Now, i cant find one under 12k... what the hell happened?!

The blue faced 15300... even crazier prices.
The difference between a blue faced 15300, and a pre owned 15202 is not that big. Both 39mm!

I wonder if these watches will continue to rise in value, or if this bubble will just burst into the 8-9k range again.

For today's prices, you could easily source a 5402ST c/d serial.

WHAT TO DO?!

Too high at this time for sure, forget the blue, you may as well get the 15202.

Prices seem to have risen, I wouldn't buy at these levels.

Yup, just 6-7 months ago you could find on watchrecon for $9k to $10k... now everything is $12k and up. I guess the supply is lower than the demand now, I would probably wait and see if prices go back down.

I love the 41mm but I also have a larger wrist. 39 is too small for me.

The watch is discontinued and that could be adding to the rise in price

Because 15300 has a bigger AP on the dial than 15400 .

Seen the white dials go for much cheaper actually.
Personally don't love the flat color; Does suit you well though.

Much more balanced than the 15400, IMO.
