Planet Ocean bezel play / feels flimsy - is this normal?
Hi folks:
I've recently bought an older planet ocean chrono. It's from 2006, reference 2150.50. Love the watch, overall looks really nice and runs great. However when I compare it with my Rolex subc I find the PO bezel feels quite loose (yes I understand it's an aluminium insert) . The click is smoother, but when you touch the bezel gently there's some play. The bezel clicks fine and lines up fine otherwise. Is this expected ? Other watch I've owned is Tudor blackbay and a Seiko tuna and the bezel action feels quite tight and firm on those. I also noticed the bracelet is much nicer on the Rolex with much better tolerance and less play. Cheers |

I had the non-chrono version to your watch and don't remember that. If it bugs you it's certainly something you can consider having checked out. It shouldn't be a big deal to have corrected. Some folks who currently own the watch should be able to confirm soon though.

It's kinda normal. The bezel has a spring inside the bezel and that determines how tight the bezel is. If you are concerned about it go to a watch maker that services omega. The spring is like 10 bucks so really cheap and an easy fix. FYI I doubt an omega service center would do this for you without a full service.

Thanks for the help. Saw this video and mine is about the same. So no complaintd. I'm ok with it otherwise.

They're my top two brands but I can totally see why you would feel this way and tend to agree. Each has it's pros and cons. My biggest issue with some of the older Submariner watches was the pearl potentially falling out. Either way, enjoy which ever makes you happiest

Lol that's exactly my feel ! Can't seem to believe this level of quality on a luxury brand like omega. Even my Seiko, Tudor all have much better bezel action
When I started out I had the common struggle with Rolex vs omega. There are heaps of articles online that says one way or another. I'm just glad I got 3 Rolex before getting the omega. |

Yeah, I noticed the 8500 but was hoping they might have fixed this for the master co-axial versions. Probably not but either way this isn't something that should be happening in my opinion.

Ok so I got fed up with this and got it fixed by my local watch maker.
I bought a generic bezel insert on ebay which surprisingly has a better fit than original with tighter tolerance, and the watch maker made adjustments with the click spring, now it's tight as and click crisp. Cost $45NZD total ..great price to fix my ocd |
