This year we were just named to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing businesses, and I was essentially put into a group of "2017's Greatest Entrepreneurs".

I married a woman who is a far better person that I am.

I have friends that I have been friends with since I was 2.

I was told I was going to be a failure in life. I had teachers suggest I did not have the attention span to make it through college, yet I graduated from a good University early.

I am 43 and currently in school to get my MBA.

I support my parents in their retirement.

I don't feel pride.

I feel like this what I should be doing.

There are no medals or hoorays for the stuff we are supposed to be doing.
This sounds like my father talking. When I first got sober, I would talk to him about the progress I was making and he would simply say,
"Mark, that is what MEN do."

Keep working on that MBA, hopefully, you will get a sense of pride from the accomplishment.

I am much more prideful that he is. It is a character flaw that I am acutely aware of. One the bright side of that flaw is that I feel pretty great about life most days.

For me it's a GCMG or nothing.

Bernard: "Of course, in the Foreign service, CMG stands for Call Me God. And KCMG for Kindly Call Me God.”
PM Hacker: “What about GCMG?”
Bernard: “God Calls Me God.”

Sorry to read about your father.,my sincere condolences. I lost my father earlier this year and it's a shattering experience. We were very close.

Your moment with him is touching and made me feel good. Bittersweet indeed.

I'm kind of the opposite. I'm probably much harder on myself than I should be and I can get into a funk sometimes because of it. I'm generally pretty happy about my life though and when I do get down occasionally it generally doesn't last long and I try not to let other people know I'm suffering.

Pride is an emotion you should reserve for others, esp children. To feel it of yourself is a bit dodgy and a slippery slope.

this is true. My oldest son started school this year, and last week he finally got all the buttons on his school uniform done by himself. I can't remember the last time I was that proud of anything i did personally. Seriously

I agree Manny, we have heartfelt comments about military service, becoming a parent, earning a degree or reward, overcoming an addiction, serious topics that make you glad to be alive; then someone pipes in with a sexual conquest.

Good for you but if you want to brag take it to a sex blog, not TRF.

But I feel I must add The Title of Lord is offered by The House of Lords to which I do not feel worthy of. As many have done so much more than I within the Maritime industry.

My late fathers & My own Honour where separate and can`t be inherited or shared within the rules of The Order laid down by King George V 1917

It seems Duncan has been banned if this was down to his comments regarding this thread I would wish to see him reinstated as i was not offended in anyway.

Very noble comment (no pun intended). If you don't take offence then I would presume no one else should. I could be wrong. I wonder if it will affect the previous decision.

if you look at the other guys posts over his last few comments I can see why the moderators made the decision to remove him from the forum.

I can't speak authoritatively in this case, but bans are often temporary, unless the violations are especially egregious or frequent.

Really? Then maybe don't use it twice in your personal details.

I'm sure this contributed to riling up Duncan, who was banned for multiple use of bad language not just here.

This discussion seems to have become political, reeking of class conflict.

Just for the record, it's rare for a banned member to be reinstated. Enough accumulated infraction points can remove posting rights for weeks or months, but a ban is almost always permanent. This helps us keep TRF one of the friendliest and most civil places on the Internet.

You need to sacrifice some freedom of speech to keep things civil and you are doing great guys. Indeed TRF is one of the friendliest and most civil online communities. Good work fellas.

My accomplishments are now rooted in my children. Last night my wife and I attended our daughters National Honor Society induction. I have not pushed her in anyway, but she may follow her Dad to Princeton University in 2019...

Maybe not as sentimental as most but I hit a hole in one on a 187 yard par 3 and my partner got up hit it in the water then holed it for par. Maybe not my proudest moment but pretty darn cool

Haven’t had mine yet but if all goes well this will prob be it:

Plan on showing up to my dads house sometime in March with 2 weekly badges to the masters golf tournament and asking him to go with me.....haven’t spoken to him since 2012 so it could be rather interesting.
