I have owned watches that were worth more than my vehicles in the past but currently it is the other way around.

I drive a honda accord i bought for 40k usd 8 years ago now worth 7k my watch is worth 9500usd. But interesting thread as i think people with luxury cars should have expensive watches as they have disposable income, as for me i dont have enough money to get bouth so o just buy expensive watches. Waiting for the daytona ln to show up.

Thought it could be interesting, depreciation always a factor with either(cars infinitely more, usually) and transportation outside of metro areas or what you need to drive. Some people actually needing tool watches may have a reason for a more expensive watch (or an excuse for one) keep it coming post photos of your daily

hmm normally my cars are more expensive but given the hype train my Patek might be worth more than my 4runner. Weird.

Nope, even factoring in depreciation my car is worth well more than my watch collection. Now if we add my wife’s watch to the collection the gap narrows but if we add her car then it widens even further.

My Rolex and my daily driver are about a tie. Either of my weekend toys is worth more than my entire collection of wrist watches, and the toys appreciate most every year.

Have probably about the same amount in the watch collection as the truck. Not a single watch worth what the truck is. I drive/entertain for a living so I keep a relatively new truck that I generally lease.

They worth about the same.
But counting insurance, taxes, gas and services, my car costs more then my watch.

Depends. Would you say a 5711 SS is worth more than a 2011 335i convert with 57k miles? It’s close

Yep. I live in Amsterdam so my daily rig is powered by my two legs! It’s a nice one, but the GMT II LN Ceramic is worth a bit more

Until my Model 3 arrives, most every watch I own is worth more than my daily driver (2007 E550).

My daily driver is pretty humble, 2012 Toyota Tacoma Base but for now it's still worth more than my 16710 GMT.

I would like to think that my watches match my car. I do have a cheaper car though whenever I'm taking a long drive and/or roadtrip

Not for me.

Cars are my preferred money pit anyway.

I used to have 3 watches worth more than my car, but have upgraded the car (not that I use it every day) and as mentioned earlier cars are very expensive in Australia so does not take much to push over the edge.

No, my car is worth more than my most expensive watch. I don't daily drive a very expensive car either (Volvo XC60). If you add up all the watches together it still comes up less than what I paid for the car, and that's not including my Sunday driver. It will probably stay that way for a while as well, unless I see an incredible deal on one of the watches I'm chasing at the moment.

No, I am hopeless with cars. The dreaded depreciating assets money pit. Buy a new one every 2-3 years. Last couple were leases which took some of the depreciation sting out. Between golf clubs and cars...just light some money on fire.

I think Rolex is the only appreciating or at least stable asset/hobby that I am into.
