Omega White GMT..
Looking around the Omega site I came across a beautiful pic of the White Seamaster GMT.
Being how much I love my White Exp. II and being my daily wearer I wonder if anyone here has owned or still owns a White Omega GMT? Any pros/cons of white vs. black? Photo credit: Keith Downing Ref: 2538.20.00 Did I mention I like this watch? Any info on this watch? Thanks

A buddy of mine has one on the Bond bracelet. I don't think it's an original option from the factory. But it looks fantastic

Just a bit. It runs the ETA based 2892-A2 movement, modified by Rolex to 23 jewels. 300 m waterproof with a 44 hour power reserve. COSC certified and a very, very accurate movement!!
Case size: 42 mm I think the OMEGA calibre is the 1125 movement with the GMT complication. Available with black or white dial....but I think the white looks better. Great watch and can be had at an excellent price. Super duper value for money!!! JJ

Another superb pic, Ragu. I prefer this one to the SMP because it does NOT have the He valve crown at 10 o'clock.

I have owned that watch twice (I know I have problems) in the past and she is stunning. I still say stick with the white Exp. II. The pictures of the white Omega GMT capture the black surrounding highlights perfectly but one drawback of the Omega GMT is that in person the white face does not have much contrast, it is all WHITE. Now don’t get me wrong, for the money you can not beat the Omega, but if you are used to the white Rolex Exp. II with the beautiful black contrasting indices stick with Rolex.

That's some serious LUME. Looks great.
I love the white face, but I've never been a fan of the Seamaster hands. I'm not into that "broad arrow" look. Prefer the hands on the Speedies, but that white face is HARD to deny! |

I've always liked Omega and the Seamaster in particular. The Black GMT seems to be favored alot more however I like the White face partly because it isn't as "common" as it's Black brother.
Any other thoughts/comments? Thanks

I have owned that watch twice and the black dial once. Not sure why I ever sold the second white dial, totally love that watch. Looks great, comfy and tough as nails.

I'm pretty sure the white version is now discontinued (a search on some Omega forums should give you this info) so if you see a BNIB one I'd snap it up.
I love it, its a gorgeous watch and something I'd like to pick up in the future!!!! At around a third of the price of an ExpII brand new, I cant ever see the justification in going Rolex.. It's easy to get Omega discounted more so than Rolex (DU anyway). EDIT - here's a link from an AD I know and his thoughts on the GMT in White being discont. http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthr...ght=2538.20.00 |

You need to take a few dives around the coasts of Australia and South Africa to see the Great White!! He'll make sure you're discontinued!!

I like both models. Omega GMT 2538.20.00 is good value for money and is still available.US$1745.
A few dollars up gets you a Bond GMT blue dial 2735.80.00 which is co-axial and worth the extra 730 at US$2475. I prefer the GMT hand and config of 24hr indices INSIDE the crystal. The ultimate of course is the white dial EXP II. It has to be for that money. |

Well, there is a BNIB Omega White GMT for sale here in Phnom Penh, at the only Omega dealer in Phnom Penh. HAs had the watch for 3 years in his shop. Dealer is asking $1500 for it. Think I may by. Good price and hard to find. Very comfortable on the wrist, more so than my Rolex GMT. Will try today to get them down a couple more hundred, if can will buy.
Cheers |

I used to own one....probably should have kept it. One of the few watches I've regretted selling. I sold to fund my GMTII (which is my all time favorite watch, so I guess in the end it's alright). Great watch...tough as nails, accurate, wears nice on the wrist....a little heavier than the EXPII though. It's thicker than the 2254.50 and 2531.80...guess it's the GMT complication. Loooooooove the all brushed case though. Also looks great on the SMP rubber strap.

Will buy today I think. Getting pretty good deal on it, and I had an Omega SMP before for 3 years that served me really well through some very tough times and now is on my brother's wrist being put through a beating so I know how Omegas hold up.
