That might just be anosmia—smell blindness. I can’t smell a lot of mine either after the initial blast, except as a faint skin scent, but I know others can smell it on me. Have you thought of putting some into a smaller bottle that you can reapply other than at home?

Elegant men, have through our the ages worn cologne. I like citrus based colognes…

There are three like:

Pehaligon’s Blenheim Bouquet, worn by Winston Churchill
Acqua di Parma Colonia, my daily wearer, worn by Gary Grant
Imperiale de Guerlain, Eau de Cologne, old fragrance created in 1853, Marcello Mastroianni wore it.

Bleu de Chanel
Bulgari Aqua (parfum)

Really liking Tom Ford's Oud Wood, will probably get that next when these run out. But it sounds weird but these perfumes will probably last me a year

I pretty routinely wear Eau Sauvage ( the older one - not the newer Sauvage ) as an aftershave. I like it - it is subtle and I'm never worried that it will overpower. I have lately been using more Bay Rhum for casual occasions - usually made by Royall Lyme of Bermuda or St. Johns. I sometimes spray Tom Ford Tobacco-Vanilla or Tuscan-Leather - but only if I know I'm not going to be in close quarters as it can be strong at first. I use it sparingly.

I just got Louis Vuitton Pacific Chill. That’s their new one for the warmer months.
It’s a banger. Fresh but not sweet, seems long lasting. With a “Pacific Chill” vibe.

Another banger I’ve been wearing with the return of warmer days is Kerosene Summer of 84. Kerosene is an independent small manufacturer from the US that used to be an OG fragrance reviewer. He’s got some really interesting and unique stuff. In a time where almost everything is a flanker or smell alike, he’s making art in a bottle.

If you like the original Eau Savage, you might like Floris' - ELITE.

Yeah some TF stuff gets pretty strong. I have some Tobacco Oud Intense and even in winter it can be like wearing a wool sweater in a sauna. Smells great though

Men with great taste, what's your favorite cologne?

In order of most to least use..

Bois du Portugal
Bleu de Chanel
Green Irish Tweed
Aventus

Aventus was a gift, and I like it ok. The other three have been the same for a long time.

DS & Durga is a really good niche fragrance house that makes excellent masculine colognes. Cowboy Grass is my current favorite, also like Amber Kiso which lasts all day.

Green Irish Tweed is my absolute fave in the Creed lineup. I think it has much better sillage than Aventus.

a pretty good one to save the pocketbook is Dunhill Icon Green

I tried this the other day. The opening is like a combination of Sauvage Elixir combined with Aventus Cologne and then it dries down into what smells like regular Aventus to my nose. It was OK but I prefer regular Aventus.

Not the most highly dollar or anything, but honestly just love the scent of Coach Black. That’s my standard go to.
