Luna Rossa

I saw on the Panerai site yesterday and it just caught my eye, so I bought it. Not usually that impulsive, but sometimes you just like what you like. I really couldn’t be happier with it. I’m probably one of the rare ones on the forum that actually enjoys a manual wind. Anyway, just thought I would share my new (and unplanned) acquisition.

Congratulations! Beautiful watch. That watch can be paired with almost any strap color. My wife has the 38mm version that we bought from the Florence boutique. She rarely makes a decision quickly. She tried it on and that was it.

I just came across this watch as well. I went to the Panerai web page yesterday and all I could do was be notified when in stock. You must have bought the only one right before I got there, LOL. Congrats. Looks great. Did it come with any other bands? And how did you get it so fast or is that not your actual watch?

.....and I'm with you 100%; for some reason, I enjoy setting and winding a watch. I do prefer a non-date though when it comes to the enjoyment of setting.

Thanks. I must have been right place at the right time. It said “call Concierge” so I did and they sent it free overnight delivery, so I got it this morning. It also comes with a black rubber strap. I definitely like the cleaner dial with the no-date.

Well, irrespective of if it's planned or not what matters is you like your purchase and got what you wanted promptly. It's better than waiting for the call or making an extra purchase just to get favor.

Congratulations OP

Interesting, I did see that option, but under it was the "be notified when available" option. This isn't what I was searching for, but definitely caught my eye. Now I need to make up my mind, lol. Enjoy

Nothing wrong with an impulse buy every now and again. I am not one to do that either, but I came across a Breitling years ago in a boutique on St Thomas that I had never seen and just yelled out my name. I wasn't sure if it was a sales tactic at the time but I was given the old pitch "this is the last one in the system, buy it now cause you won't see it again". Turns out she was telling the truth, I love that watch to this day.

Tom, you definitely got lucky, called at the right time for sure. I just got off the phone with them. They are currently sold out. The person I spoke with said this model is "much more popular than Panerai anticipated". The run will be 1500 produced in batches with another round arriving by Sept, Oct at the latest. I told her it was for my 50th Bday in 2 weeks and she is gonna try and hook me up.....we'll see!

Do you have any other Panerai or is this the first?

Good luck! I have had a couple other models in the past, but this is my first white dial. I actually have a bracelet from a 1316 that should fit this one so will have to try that out although I really like the strap that it came with.

Hope you get one for your 50th.

Congrats! I saw this one online the other night and it immediately caught my eye. If I was in the market I probably would have pulled the trigger!

Luna Rossa

I was fortunate to be able to buy both the luna rossa submersible and the luna rossa luminor. In my opinion these are two of the most beautiful watch’s Panerai hs ever made. The dial on the sub is a gorgeous blue and the grayish one on the luminor is beautiful. If you can buy these watches you wont regret it.

Hey Tom, I found one!! .....or at least a boutique manager that says he can source one and have it to me by Wed!! I can't wait! The white dial seems like it will be a "cheery" watch; I call my yellow dial Brietling my happy watch, lol!

Congratulations Tom.

You’re not alone … there’s nothing quite as satisfying as winding a Panerai

What type of material is the strap? Also what is your wrist size?

Gorgeous watch - congrats!

Thanks… the strap is nylon/cloth type material with a rubber backing. It also comes with a black rubber strap. My wrist is 7.5 inches. It looks bigger in the photo than it actually wears.

I joined the club! I had a great experience dealing straight with a boutique. What a different experience than the Rolex brand. I dealt with a manager in a boutique a few states away, he couldn't have acted faster. I'm so impressed with the service and the watch.

Tom, have you monitored the power reserve on the Luna Rossa? I gave mine a full wind Saturday at 2:00, when I received it. I was pretty surprised that the 3 day power reserve lasted until 12:30 today (Wed)! Just a couple hours shy of 4 full days.

I guess my next "test" will be side by side with the 111. I don't recall it ever lasting near that long without a wind.

I haven’t done an actual test, but am pretty confident that, based on my wearing patterns, I am at least getting the advertised 3 days. No complaints on the movement from me.
