They provide a receptacle so the new warranty card and manual in the small sleeve don't rattle around.

No date on the warranty card by the way but the date gets auto filled when you register for the 3 year warranty extension on line.

Do they take names now like Rolex on the card? I always liked that AP warranties were somewhat anonymous.

No names on the card but obviously when you register online.

That card looks like something I'd get in the mail and I'd trash as junk mail.

It is a little hard to understand how that warranty card design was selected.

Interesting - looks the warranty card is RFID enabled? Looks cheap to me, and interesting that they don't print it with the point of sale. In any case, I'm all for slimming the paperwork that comes with APs as that certificate book and instruction manual is massive. Hopefully they change the packaging to reflect the smaller size of the paperwork too, as using that sleeve seems to defeat the whole purpose of slimming everything down.

Just received a brand new AP ROO from Switzerland.. also came with the card as shown above.

Though having issues registering online.. AP has already confirmed the issue and asked me to send them the info via email to register.

Have to admit, I think that design is truly awful and not supportive of the brand - it does look like something you'd get with a new vacuum cleaner, not high end time piece. "Roll up, roll up, get you additional free three year warranty here!"

I maybe making a mountain out of a mole hill but that isn't good for the prestigious brand of AP and whoever designed it, and even worse, approved it, should be fired. I hope this kind of thing isn't adopted elsewhere as it would tarnish the brand image for me.

I bought an Omega recently (first one) and the quality of presentation was superb - better than AP and way better than Rolex. I realise it doesn't directly effect the watch itself, but presentation goes a long way to building brand value and loyalty.

I can't remember the last time I looked at my box and papers for any of my watches. They collect dust in my closet.

I agree with this.

Beyond looking tawdry, this raises a number of questions for those who will buy APs second-hand - how do you tell how much warranty is left if theres no date? How do you register a new owner online if the original owner has already registered ownership?

That's fair enough. For me part of the attraction of being an AP owner is association to the brand and I think there should be a certain style in keeping with that brand's value. I hope AP don't go down market in their presentation.

I must admit I don't look at warranty cards etc at all, they are stashed away in the box - its just a bit worrying that such a piece of poor design etc has been approved and used by AP.

I would argue that the spate of poor reliability does more to harm the brand's value than the design of the warranty card - even if I think that this warranty card could certainly have been better executed. In another thread, linked below, you cite a 33% error rate on your AP purchases and another member (GB-man) a 20% error rate. These numbers do not form a dataset, but they are appalling.

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=568599

I have purchased one AP into my collection and am actively considering a second. Whilst the first was without issue thus far, these reports have very clearly dented my enthusiasm for a second AP.

I have 5 so far and the only issue I have had was that some would run faster than I preferred. Very consistent, just consistently 10 fast. Not a big deal and when I sent in for B1 it was dealt with quickly.

With this new card..is the AD stamp still required on the warranty booklet?
Or is that removed all together?
