Rolex Magazine Ads
I'm a newbie to this forum as I recently purchased my first Rolex, a 114060. Prior to the purchase, I spent nearly a year studying the history of the brand as I felt like it was a prerequisite for ownership.
Anyway, in my research I was always drawn to the magazine advertisements of today as well at those from a half century ago. The ads are just flat out motivating. I couldn't find a thread where these were shared so here goes. What's your favorites? IMG_5227.jpgIMG_5224.JPGIMG_5236.jpgIMG_5237.jpgIMG_5225.JPGIMG_5228.jpg Instagram: @TheColumbiaWatchSociety |

Good thread you started!
Sometimes I go to eBay, search "Rolex advertisement" and enjoy the show!

I love Rolex magazine ads. I recall admiring them as a child in my father's National Geographic magazines in the '70's.

I collect vintage Rolex ads. It's a cool little ancillary hobby to watch collecting. So this is a great thread and thanks.

To the original OP....I like to find vintage print ads for models that were the forebears for models that I've owned. I agree, a prerequisite for ownership.

Fondly remember them as well; heck, those advertisements are what first made me take notice of the Rolex brand.

Great thread. Here's my contribution from The Royal Geographical Society magazine of December 1966

Thanks for posting. They're certainly fun to read. Does anyone know of any sites dedicated to Rolex advertising? I've been searching, but I'd just find a couple here or there.

Some I've torn out of magazines over the years(incl. a National Geographic or two).

Rolex needs a new ad agency if they are still using this one. Beckham's charisma (or lack of it) is up for debate, but the unsurpassed/surppased repetition and spelling error is very shoddy. Perhaps he wrote it himself and no one bothered to proofread.

I'd like to see a newer ad for a black dial Explorer 216570 if anyone finds one
