FS- Rolex 5508 Submariner Circa 1959 No Crown Guard Gilt Dial

For sale is a very good condition 38mm stainless steel Rolex Submariner. The 5508 Sub sale is for watch only, does not come with any box or papers. The Rolex is on a generic strap and buckle, sets the dial off nicely.

The watch was just at the spa, compete complete inspection along with service from the incomparable LAWW. As far as was able to be determined: the dial, bezel, hands and bezel insert are original to the watch. The watch was not refinished at service, left in unpolished condition, but the acrylic crystal was replaced as was the crown. The lugs are moderately thick and still show the remnants of the original chamfers. The Swiss only meters first dial is amazing, fantastic tropic coloring that the font just jumps off in the sunlight. The railroading around the edge is complete, do not see any missing indices or breaks. The bezel does turn both directions with a fair amount of pressure.
