I'm surprised too. This forum is known for notoriously banning people that see things more critical than others. Seems like people here are uncomfortable getting their bubble slightly smashed. But maybe this is an investment forum, hence you ppl don't like my negative attitude against profit hunters.

I picked mine because I love base dials. I love the bracelets (or rubber in the case of the 5167), and how thin and comfortable they each are. I'm not one for complex/numerous complications, precious metal, or overly dressy watches.

Sure there are other "Holy Trinity" watches that I would love to own, but may never be able to afford. So in my current situation, I'm very happy with the ones I have, which were specifically the ones I sought out for the reasons above.

Nice edit of your original post. Here’s a screenshot from Tapatalk. You aren’t a true enthusiast of anything except classless idiotic remarks. Why are you here anyway?

If we are talking about grail watches:
PP 5320G Perpetual Calendar
VC 6500T/000P-9949 Traditionnelle minute repeater tourbillon
AP Code 1159

If we are talking about watches that are within reach:

PP 5212A Weekly calendar
VC 3110V/000A-B426 Historiques Triple calendrier 1942
AP I'll skip

As much as I love AP and both my 15202 and now 26480ti, I completely agree with this.

This to me is the modern day holy trinity as both Journe and ALS are a notch above AP and VC.

15202ST for me.......however, if someone would trade me a 5712/1a for it, I would gladly make that deal. I'm not sure I would for a 5711/1a

It always amazes how wolves are so interested in getting praise for their wolfish behavior from sheep.

So who are the wolves and who are the sheep? Does liking a popular watch make one a sheep? Does owning a Patek (insert whatever vastly expensive and overpriced watch brand you like) or two make you a wolf, a sheep, or an asshat? So many philosophical questions, but so little time.

Can someone explain to me what a trinity should include? Steel, leather, PM? ...Or how? Listed mine already and those are the ones I'd have in my collection at all times.

The VC on leather, rubber, and bracelet is its own trinity, and a better overall watch than the nautilus or RO.

But for a trinity, I would get an FPJourne Optimum, a Kari Voutilainen vingt-8, and a Roger W Smith.

Or a Patek rattrapante perpetual, Patek minute repeater, and AP RO tourbillon as a beater...

Not sure what you mean, Holy Trinity is just the 3 brands (PP, AP, VC). Doesn't matter which model, strap, etc. It just refers to those 3 brands.

Holy Grails, are your personal ideal watches, and what a lot of people are actually referring to here. Some love them, but many people have no interest in one/all of the Holy Trinity watch brands for their grails, as there are tons of other elite brands that are awesome (ALS, FPJourne, RM, Voutilainen, etc).

One should consider the G.P Laureto 3 hand. An amazing watch with history.
Fit and finish impeccable and beautiful wrist presence. Best of all attainable.

What would you pick?
Great pics, if perhaps all a bit too much in the same vein. I would choose the 4500v, as you did (and as I in fact have in real life), substitute a grand Lange 1 for the AP (again, as I have in real life) and top it off with either a 5170r or a 5172g to add a Patek (as I will once the kid is through school and uni). Also like the 5146g a lot, and perhaps I won’t have to wait quite as long for that.

Above AP for sure, VC and ALS are very similar in quality (I own watches of both), Journe is an entirely different philosophy, so not sure it compares too well.

Not going to go into which is the better watch discussions given a lot smarter and more experienced have failed at a definite answer but if you run the pros and cons....I think the 4500/V will come on top every time. It’s more watch for the money/time (waits etc). Plus, I do think it is better looking the the other two combined haha.
