I dont wear a Skydweller, but I do wear my Explorer at the gym. I wear my Explorer enough that I don't even think about it anymore.

G Shock, or your favorite beater. I was at the gym years ago when I had a one & only Rolex, a TT DJ. I forgot it was on until I got there, just did my thing and went to the showers. As I walked in, an older guy says, ‘you forgot to take your watch off.’ I thanked him, waited for him to turn around and took a shower! Your Rolex can take it, but it still wouldn’t be my first choice for the gym. As others have said, YMMV.

in a pinch or on travel I would vs. leaving in a locker room, but not part of a daily routine.

I'm with you, brother.

OP, I won't say mad, but it doesn't work for me. However, if it makes you happy, do it.

I hate wearing a watch other than a g-shock (easier to time rests) while lifting. But if I forgot to take it off I definitely wouldn’t leave it in the car or locker.

If you’re on the elliptical or cross trainer it’d wind pretty efficiently.

If you follow https://instagram.com/hafizjmehmood?...dium=copy_link he wears his AP to the gym

In my opinion there is no reason to wear a Rolex while working out. I understand if one goes to the gym direct from the work in that case the watch is more reasonable to have on wrist than leave anywhere. While having a day off and go to the gym the watch is worth of leaving at home. Usually there are several wall o’clocks at the gym to measure rest between the sets.

But you just wanted to flex so mission accomplished!

Nice watch!

If your workouts consist of running the treadmill, riding a bike or any other kind of cardio machine I say go for it. If you’re doing Olympic type lifting or swinging kettle bells it’s probably not the best choice; unless you don’t car if your watch gets banged up

I don't have a Skydweller; yet. But if that was the watch I was wearing for the day, then the watch is going to the gym. The JC Deepsea trained today and the AP Beast hit the weights yesterday.

It's a freaking watch for God's sake, wear it.

Safest place for a watch is on the wrist

Watch: What's on my wrist
Posts: 33,256
From my perspective if one's wearing a watch when they get to the gym then the best idea is to wear it while there. Both cars and lockers can be broken into. The lowest risk is with the watch on the wrist. I stopped going to the gym because of the covid exposure risk. I'm doing a small class Tang Soo Do practice and bought a tread mill instead. But back when I used to swim all the time I'd no issue wearing my SkyD (which I no longer own). Below is a shot of it at the juice bar and in the hot tub following a work out.

Depends.
If you’re used to always wearing a wrist watch, and the SkyDweller is your ONLY watch I don’t see a problem.
There’s nothing dangerous about gyms if you respect your environment, control your weights and are sensible around equipment.
A few extra ounces makes no difference, if it did there’s a problem.
I ALWAYS wear an automatic. In the gym it’s a useful timer.
Sub, tudor or Aqua Terra no issues.

There is a reason that serious athletes strive to wear clothing and equipment that are super light and aero dynamic. So wearing a clanky heavy watch on your wrist defeats that purpose. The pro tennis players put on their watches after the match :)

I don't wear any watches to the gym. TBH, it throws off my balance and I really don't want to put that kind of wear on my expensive pieces.

Only watch I wear to the gym is my Apple Watch. I connect my AirPods to it to listen to my music.

if i saw you i would think, just flexing too much and why at the gym. I'd always leave mine locked in car or at home. Wouldnt trust the lockers in the gym, easy to break the lock and take contents.
