Love it. To me it seems Laine is making beautiful stuff at a very reasonable price.

Very cool indeed, with all the criticism folks have for the likes of Patek and Lange as big brands in an age in which it has become oh so cool to be into the « indies », a thought really needs to be spared for the fact that those big brands very often show up on the resume of these cool independents. It’s a great thing in and of itself that they help form and develop the talent that ends up flowing into these ventures.
I might really see myself adding one of these watches sooner than later.

Very cool!!! Yeah, I was designing a Laine for a possible TRF group buy at
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...t=Laine&page=4 But the guys here seem to want an AP (meh, no thanks).

Nice executions. I particularly like the 38 mm with the top grade Vaucher 5401 movement.

Thanks for opening our eyes to this talented guy. Do you have any idea on the case thickness overall? I have been leaning towards manual wind watches lately for their thinness. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Would TRF members be up for a group buy on the manual wind?

Good point, perhaps 2023 for my personal custom is a better plan as this year is just about already allotted on my side. Still, if TRF or WPS has something special done lemme know. Great timepiece!

Agreed, and here's where FPJ is helping bring in talent. For many years the big brands have good training facilities and that's been a gift to horology. Yes indeed, the 'Big Three' earned gratitude and thanks.
Seems to me more 'youth' are getting interested in watchmaking nowadays, so the industry needs schools, mentors, etc to help train them. Restoration is truly an art form as much as it is about mechanics and engineering.

Please allow me to say I have the best Muse / wife! Last Hanukkah she (and family) gifted me an MB&F Sherman. Laine is said to be at Q4 2022 build right now, so she's gifting me this for the winter holidays.

^^^ agreed, think it is this. She shut 'us' down.
She wanted nada to do with a Salmon dial and was quite adamant about it. Seems you guys were leaning that way, and my Muse / wife is not always the most patient lady. In fact, sometimes she can get a bit, ummm, aggressive. Not that i'm complaining. Yet YES, please start your own NEW thread if you guys want to 'go swinging' without me. Wife and i are all set and already in the process of ordering the purple dial. JOIN IN NOW Of course if you guys also want the same config of the purple dial and decored back E-MAIL LAINE ASAP to get aboard the train as it's leaving the station next week when i send funds. Post here if you're aboard.

This is probably one of the best examples of a highjacket thread.

Well, if you're going to do something, be THE BEST at what you do :)
PS: Later on last night my Muse admitted it'll go great with the MB&F LM101 Willy Wonka (due here Q1 2023). Mmmm-kay, where was she going with that??? She admitted she wants to wear the Laine as i wear the Willy Wonka. Ahhhh, so THAT's how it's gonna be (LOL). Smart young lady i married :) Apologies... Ok, yes, am very sorry about the thread-jack. Yet to be fair, this thread brought on a discussion as intended. That discussion brought on a decision. And that decision brought on an order for Laine. Not sure if that's thread jacking, or a VERY effective initial post by the OP. Jocke, as a show of apology, if you lived closer we'd get you a few drinks and enjoy a cigar together. Looks like my Muse owes ya :)

I will be more than happy if Torsti will sell some watches and it's just great if this post will result in some new Laine owners.

Interesting brand, I like what he is doing. I am spending much more of my time with watches looking at independents.

Laine GG3 purple dial reserved Q4 2022 delivery date. Down payment done, and my Muse / wife is VERY excited!!! BTW Jocke, think i sold two more for Torsti in the coming month or two. Another hardcore collector i hung out with today never heard of Laine so i educated 'em and showed pics. He's an ALS fan so he'll come around and probably get one too :)
HUGE thx Jocke!!!
