Thanks. I’d be all for it if it means keeping the AP logo.

Hm, let's see: AP logo is gone on 77350CE, 15550, 26715 and 26240, while all their predecessors had it. It remains on the 16202. I'd say chances for the 15500 successor are slim - maybe they might figure that the expanse of the 15500 dial needs more than just the "Audemars Piguet" on top, but fitting the 15500 in with the "regular" RO/ROC line and leaving the 16202 as the only exception seems more likely. Time will tell, fortunately.

I agree - it’s more likely than not that they get rid of the AP monogram. I wonder if they’ll leave the dial that empty with the “Audemars Piguet” only… let’s see.

I think current owners will want them to remove the AP logo on the new reference. Makes the watch more unique considering it was a reference that ran for only 3 years. =)

It seems silly to do anything beyond a 1 year run with the 50 anniversary rotor.

15500ST discontinued?

I don’t think they will do the new 15500 version in Ice blue color. khaki green yes.

Ice Blue will be too hot to handle imo. Same as they did the 38mm ROC in ice blue but not the 41mm 15500.

April 15th is coming soon (;

You should take it. Getting a 50th Ann piece is nearly impossible unless you have good history

I’d take it.

No guarantee you’d get the replacement to the 15500 or when it’ll be available this year.

If I didn't have a 15500 and I was sure I could get the anniversary model, I would wait. However, the fact that you are asking here, rather than having your boutique manager call you, suggests that you should take what you can get.

I guess impossible to answer without knowing the buying history and the respective supply for that territory.

tbh, i'd just take the 15500st. Upgrade doesn't mean better.

Not sure if AP does this intentionally, but doesn't anyone else notice that the upgrades are always not obviously better/worse? And it always comes down to individual tastes?

Just look at 15500 vs 15400, some will always prefer the 15400 due to the 'automatic', thinner+longer indexes?

Or the 26240 41mm chrono versus the 26331st, where AP did away with the 'AP' logo, which is a fan favorite. I also know some who prefer the contrasting subdials in the 26331.

I honestly like what AP is doing. Each new edition gives a different vibe and no one can definitively say it is a better watch than the previous one, with the deciding factor being personal taste.

Now if you compare 116500 with 116520, the gap is way more significant. You'd find a few saying they'd prefer the 116520 to the 116500, but a lot more will say they prefer the 15400 to the 15500.

Interesting, and thank you. Any context/details to this, and what’s due for the replacement?

I’m also curious as to whether there will be April and July released for the 50th, or just one more bulk release.

Grab. It will be discontinued per my RM.

The 26239OR was only in production for 6 months, very glad I got one.

Yes take it, the 15500 will be a better investment over the new one. Try for a blue dial and that will significantly increase your return

Wouldn’t the replacement be a 15600 reference number?
15300, 15400, 15500, 15600?
I do hope they shrink it to 40 or even 39mm.
As much as I love my 15400, I do regret not getting a 15202 or 15300.
41mm is my max.

not sure why you keep fueling the fire with your comments. before folks liked watches for what they are... but now the market has changed... folks enjoy them for what they are as well as see them as investments. considering the current market, why wouldn't you think about potential growth? why can't folks talk about what they want to talk about?

Surely, sooner later there must be a remake of the 15300? A 16300

I doubt that will ever happen again as the 39mm range is covered by the Jumbo. It is why I think they moved to 41mm after the 15300.

My SA thinks the 41mm will be relaunched later this year with changed movement and 50 rotor, also new colours.

39mm is the exclusive domain of the Jumbo so effectively zero chance

Likely new rotor and updated case / bracelet with new dial colors.

I’d be shocked if they did a new movement since the current one is quite new and already part of the new movement portfolio
