Rolex Price Increase!!!

So I just looked at rolex website and it appears that submariners have just had a price increase in the US from $8550 to $9250 for SS sub date? Now mind you I just traveled to Mexico today so maybe that’s why the price is different on the website but it’s still listed in dollars. Please someone in the states tell me this isn’t so. Thanks

What if this is in fact going to be the new price and someone at Rolex accidentally posted it up too early and then took it down. Hmmm. That would be an 8% increase...

Here’s a screen shot from Mexico. Weird cause it’s still in US dollars.

I love the price increase threads. The last time the US had a price increase was June 2012. It’s about time we had one, not that I’m looking forward to it though. I heard that Patek was increasing some by 20%, ouch! But Patek did have a price decrease in 2015.

Rolex Price Increase!!!

That’s crazy! $8550 USD in today’s exchange rate is $10620 CND.

That’s almost $1000 more in the US!!!

Rolex Canada.

Just because we haven't had a price increase since 2012 doesn't mean we are due one. USA has some of the most expensive (without tax) prices in the world. It seems like Rolex would be interested in prices being roughly equal across countries so that Rolex isn't making significantly different profits by selling to ADs in various countries and so that people aren't traveling to one country (UK, recently) to buy Rolex for much less than in their home country, leaving that country with a dearth of popular watches.

Watches in Mexico have always been more expensive, as the price includes the 16% VAT.

So far all of the price increases have been on non-American sites......but I had this "anomaly" last week here in California:

I guess each country that Rolex sells in is adjusted to the local currency the customs duties vary country to country so does the VAT and GST
India according to me was the cheapest including GST

I heard from a reliable source that Rolex is going to have a buy 1 get 1 one free sale.

I heard that Rolex is now employing technology where if you for instance access their web site while GPS shows you are in an Hermès store, the price goes up 15%.
