GMT 116710 LN vs Submariner 116610 LN

To use daily and all kinds of activities, which one do you prefer? Why?
The BLNR I do not like. I prefer black or white watches

The sub is arguably the most popular Rolex for a reason. I love the less busy bezel insert, the pearl on top and the less hands. Unless you will be using the gmt function (if you don’t have a smart phone lol) then I would go with the sub date...... that’s what I did

Sub, more of a clean dial and the bracelet makes it more for every activity. Less scratches, more adjustable, my buddy has the BLNR as his everyday and it really shows the scratches.

116610 for me. Had the 116710LN and BLNR and they did not stay. Sub did: because of the glide lock bracelet and less busy bezel.

If you travel, the 116710 is a better choice.
If tracking another time zone is not important, the 116610 wins because of the brushed bracelet finish, the timing bezel and the cleaner look. Glidelock is an awesome feature but then there's the easy link on the GMT and it just works.
Can't really go wrong with either though. Ideally I'd have both.

Very tough one! I have both, sub no date and gmt (pepsi) and love both. Those two for you, maybe sub.

Love them both but for an everyday watch, it’s the Sub. The GMT is just a little blingy for me to wear everyday.

Then shouldn't you have got a sub nd because your smart phone also tells you the date? Or not got a watch at all because your phone tells the time?

And on topic... I'd say the choice is obvious: assuming equal aesthetics, GMT if you travel and sub if you don't.

I have a BLNR which I know you don’t like. I was drawn to it because of the splash of colour.

Deciding between these two, I would go for the sub. I find the all black GMT bezel boring. But that’s just my opinion!

The brushed center links and glidelock make the Sub the winner for me.

Subc for me, unless you use the GMT function often.

On the flip side...

Adjusting the glide lock is a two-hand operation requiring you most of the time to take your watch off which is risky. The easy link is just that — easy.

The PCL turns your sports watch into a dress watch.

The GMT hand with 100m water resistance makes the GMT more complete.

But, ceramic GMT bezels drive me nuts as I use my bezels as a time marker as well. I want a minimum of a 60-click bezel, not a 24-click.

I think GMT needs a bi color bezel personally. I’d go with the sub in this case

This would make the choice a lot easier, but part of the problem is that the aesthetics aren’t equal

Exactly. More Subs are purchased by non-divers than GMTs are by non-travelers.

GMT got my vote. It's far more versatile and if the PCLs truly bother the owner then that's easy enough to rectify.

I’d go GMT as a one and only. I could take or leave the PCL’s, but I like the GMT function VS the timing function of the sub. Although in a collection of more than one watch, I’d always have a sub, because I love ‘em!

If I was planning on only 1 watch, it would be the GMT. It’s less ubiquitous than the sub and I like the green gmt hand. However, I’m personally interested in the blnr and would not get the gmt ln due to the similarities. I’m going for a blnr and subdate LN

GMT sits nicer on my wrist. Had a sub and let it go but my gmt on glidelock is my daily / only

Both are great, but I went with the SubC Date. I like the less cluttered bezel and brushed finish. Although I don’t dive, I use the diving bezel quite a bit.

116610LN is a better choice for me because I don't like the green hand and a single-color bezel on a GMT watch.

I use a GMT often, but had the choice and went with the Sub because of the bezel. I don't like the bezel clicks with only 24 clicks, or whatever it is. Got myself a Tudor GMT to compliment the Sub.

My preference between the two you posted, is the Sub. It's also less loud with brushed links and less numbers on the bezel.

GMT is my one and only rolex so I'm biased but it won me for the useful complication as I travel a lot for work, and the small splash of green is stunning

Sub to me is just a bit cleaner over all. Love them both BTW and agreeing with you on the black and white. My BLNR has become a watch box queen. Can't get away from my SubC date......it just suits my style. You cannot possibly go wrong with either of these tho
