BLNR or smurf?

Hi all, new member here. I’ve enjoyed browsing the forum and seeing your great pieces.
I’m in the market for my first Rolex and I’ve narrowed it down to 2 — the BLNR or smurf. I was set on BLNR until I walked into an AD to check one out (of course none in stock), but the salesperson had me try on a smurf instead. Since then it’s been on my mind.
I haven’t seen a BLNR in person. For those of you who have handled them, how would you compare the two? Is the white gold noticeably different in person? On the website there isn’t a huge difference. I like the idea of having only a few nice pieces and could handle the price difference if the experience of wearing a smurf was distinct from the BLNR.
Thanks!

I personally prefer Blnr because it holds it's value much better and it's not as heavy as smurf. But, you should go with the one that you like more.

I love my BLNR, but the smurf is on another level in my opinion. Not just because of the WG heft, but that blue dial and bezel are amazing. Smurf all the way.

I have both and the Smurf gets my vote. It gets worn more than any of my other watches. But both are fantastic watches, you can't go wrong.

Because it’s a question about personal preference. I don’t like the smurf blue.

You're not comparing apples to apples here friend.

Precious metals subs dominate all the SS versions.

Go 116619 (stop calling it a smurf WTF)

Only took 13 posts for the name police to come out lol.

To the OP so different watches. If you can afford the Smurf you will not regret it, but the BLNR is nice as well. Maybe for the price of the Smurf you get the BLNR and something else?

Like a Hulk and a no date sub :)

(Hence the reason I’ll probably never buy the Smurf even though I think it’s a cool look)

By the way, I think Jack Black was wearing one (Smurf) on the Tonight Show the other night. Check it out on YouTube

I might get hunted here but I’ve never liked the new gmt.

Bulbous bezel and odd colours. Much prefer the classic

WG sub on the other hand is just lovely!

Smurf and it’s not even close. SS watches get all the hype because they are more affordable then PM. Both are nice watches but PM is in another league

As you said it's not all about the money so no reason to compare apples to apples. If I were to choose one for function I'd choose the GMT however it would also be nice to have a WG piece. For me it may be a DD40. Did you ever consider a WG Blro ? Anyway from your two current choices I'd go with the Blnr.

Smurf. I was at an AD trying one on earlier today.

I don't know why I didn't pay much attention to it before. But it really hooked me today. It is gold, but it is so wearable because it looks like warm silver. Just a great looking watch with less bling than the YG (which is amazing too and which I covet). You could daily the heck out of a Smurf.

They’re both fantastic, but I find the BLNR to be more versatile. For me, the price difference makes a big difference admittedly. If that is not a factor the decision becomes much more difficult. But for a fraction of the price it’s hard to beat a BLNR

Get BLNR as you everyday watch and get the Smurf for your weekend watch.

Blue sub all the way!
I wouldn’t buy a WG watch that has a ss sister! Plus that smurf is simply gorgeous

The smurf is gorgeous, but in a higher class than the blnr. I’d love to own a smurf someday. I’ll continue to be happy and feel blessed to have the two Rolex watches I currently own.
