Congrats is a great watch, but yes, for me I tend to do any and all activities with my Rolex and given they are sport watches find the SS more versatile and have a clear functional advantage on that score. I would try your best, but due to the heft, there is only so much that can be done. I would perhaps use it as more of the show pony watch and use your SS versions for everyday wear if you are really unable to find a better fit.

Little late to this thread, but a counterpoint, for what it’s worth (not much, surely).

I have only one nice watch—a white gold day date—and it’s my every day piece. I wear it to work with suits; I wear it on weekends with shorts. (It’s a 118209 with oyster and domed bezel, so it kinda works with anything. It’s basically a Datejust with a secret superhero identity.)

I wear a bit loose. Not so loose that it’s constantly sliding around and flipping—in fact, I couldn’t rotate it completely if I tried. But loose enough that I can get an index finger under it. And it does move a bit.

At first I had it tighter, as people say. But as I played around with all the possible link configurations, I found it was either too tight or the way I have it now, and I preferred the latter.

Part of my reasoning is that the appeal of pm is (for me, anyway) the mass of the watch. I like feeling its presence—I don’t want to forget that I have it on. Not to the point where it’s annoying or distracting or uncomfortable, obviously, but I don’t want it just to disappear. In my experience, you pretty quickly adjust to the weight-factor: the different in heft from ss to pm becomes “meh” within just a few hours. But when I wear the watch loosely so it moves just a little, I feel that difference more—it keeps the magic alive for me.

I’m sure this sounds dumb. But it’s my take.

Captain's log ...

Issue fixed. I did tighten the GMT one notch (3mm) and have been wearing it for 1.5 weeks as a daily. It now feels completely normal and comfortable.

I tried on a 41mm stainless steel sub yesterday and I couldn't believe how light and 'tinny' it felt. It's really odd the way the brain adjusts and re-baselines things. A month ago the Sub would have felt too heavy and bulky.

Anyway, I have convinced my wife that I need a RG DD. Next stop on the train ...

Good to hear...

I'm also hunting down a RG or YG DD40. The PM curse is real

Cheaper to source a bracelet I think and it’s much more comfortable on steel than WG

looks great, i've had to get use to wearing my PM feeling "loose" because my tight watches can aggravate one of the nerves in my wirst.

If it’s gets to tight I use the easy link or Glidelock
Yep same here. I would try wearing it a bit further up wrist OP I wear my watches all slightly loose they fit well
