I have been in the market for a GMT, I had my heart set on an original "Pepsi", but struggled to find one that was complete enough for my liking. I was fortunate to source a piece locally, but I had to make the concession for the "Coke" variation. I am happy with the piece, it is truly a complete set down to the original sales receipt! It has some wear on the bezel and crystal, but overall it appears to never have been polished and the bracelet is nice and tight. The crystal can be replaced and I'm hunting for a nicely patina'd Pepsi bezel. I love seeing these old prices ($3500 before the discount)!

Funny thing is, if Rolex ever comes out with another coke, your concession will turn in to your true love. That is just how the mob mentality works.

Don't run with the crowd, that coke is a beauty brother!

Congrats! I’ve only seen one other coke in the wild (besides my 1991, that is). Enjoy it like the sweet tasty beverage that it is.

Congrats! You had to buy it no matter the insert. I just bought the same as well, local, one owner F ser. full set black bezel. I bought a new pepsi insert from Andrew (frakis) here on TRF to scratch that itch. Enjoy that Beauty!!...

A brand new Pepsi insert will set you back $150 at the RSC. Why buy one with someone else’s patina when you can build your own. That is the beauty of the 5 digit GMTs.

Where’s the full set? It always amuses me when collectors choose polished pieces with trinkets over unpolished ones without. Congrats on a great reference.

No concession there! My “Coke” bezel was my only Rolex for 8 years and I loved every minute of wearing it. I still get excited when it comes up in the rotation.

Looks beautiful, a modernized 16760! I originally wanted a Pepsi 2 years back but sourced a full set unpolished 2000 era Coke from a TRF grey as well (receipt dating back 2001) showing purchase price of $3700 if I recall. The receipt itself listed 2 watches purchased, 1 coke along with 1 Pepsi. Guess the current owner of that Pepsi lost out on a complete set, ha.

The poor guy’s home address and credit card number are shown. Looking at street view it seems the old neighborhood ain’t what it used to be...

My sentiments exactly- would hardly consider the Coke variation a “concession”!

OP - big Congratulations to you! 16710 is easily my favorite 5-digit reference.

Consider a new insert from the RSC

Good suggestion. I recently took my Coke 16710 to the RSC in NYC and they installed a new Pepsi insert and let me keep the original Coke. The price was actually $75 plus tax with the return of the other. I believe it would have been less (~$50) if I traded it in.

Forget about the coke or Pepsi insert. Sooner or later you will add more GMT Watches in your collection like me :).

Without question the five digits GMT is the most versatile and beautiful Rolex ever made.

That wasn’t the price they quoted me at the NYC RSC. It would have cost around 80 if I chose not to keep the original black insert, but I preferred to keep it and the whole thing cost me $147 plus tax. Maybe their prices have gone up. I was there just about a month ago.

That's odd that you got a different price. I recently had them do a service so perhaps they gave me some sort of discount on the installation. Here's the receipt:

Installation fee for the disc is waived when you do a service.

I believe that fee is $40 plus tax.

RSC in NYC adds an $80 plus tax “labor” fee to install any 16710 insert if it’s not changed during a service.
