Just curious for some opinions.

What do you think about trading a GMT 116710BLNR and Sub 116610LV for a Daytona 16520 (A-serial) ?

Some other details...
* My collection includes a 16710 (w/ all inserts), 16610V, 16610LN, & 16713 Root Beer. All dark dials.
* The white dial 16520 is missing only the tags & calendar.
* The 16520 will need a service ASAP but everything else is fine.
* I don't own a Daytona and doubt one will be allocated by my ADs. Been waiting nearly 2 years now for a 116500.
* The Sub and GMT are fully complete. Paid MSRP for both.

I wouldnt do it but that's just an opinion based on my likes and not being a Daytona fan but since you have a couple other Subs including a Kermit I'd trade the Hulk but keep the Blnr being it's your only other 6 digit piece and one of the best out there.

No - 2 high flyers for one. I prefer ceramic on SS daytonas. If you have any omega / breitling etc I’d raise cash that way as you do need a daytona

Another no vote. That Daytona would have to come with free housekeeping for a few months to start to be worth it.

Seems like you’re giving a lot here. What’s the cash asking price on the 16520? Seems you could pretty easily sell the blnr and LV for over $25k usd combined which I assume I more than the 16520

A-serial (& P) 16520s in decent condition with box / papers are up to $24k plus Their prices jumped a bit since 2017. Granted, this is just from my online research of sales.

I think a lot of people here are 6 digit fans and don't understand what a Zenith Daytona is so you are asking an audience who aren't armed with the knowledge to answer your question.

Yeah, it’s a watch that flies under the radar with most. Swiss Made dials only made for 2-ish years w/ that movement. Was about to buy one 2 years ago for $19k. Thought the price was too high then... ha.

If it were me (and it’s not, 100% what you want) That doesn’t seem like a good trade. If it’s that special to you will you wear it, more than the other two combined? Does it matter more to you to own it in general or as a collector piece? If not then sell one and add cash. The Hulk is great and so is the BLNR, but in that deal I would let the Hulk go.

As a watch enthusiast, buying, selling trading is part of the hobby. A documented A serial Zenith has really gone up in value. Your collection includes several five digits and that is your sweet spot. Your collection is missing a white dial five digit Daytona, I would go for it.

I wouldn’t. The only Daytona I would possibly consider that for would be 116500 ceramic. Plus I would expect cash back.

What would your advice be then? Even if armed with the knowledge of the coveted Zenith Daytona, unless OP is a hard core collector, most would say no. A movement doesn't make a watch. Even with practicality, a Sub and/ or GMT is way more useful. I got rid of all my chronographs for this reason. Who honestly uses it... really...

I wouldn't do it OP.

Sounds like a fair trade to me based
On current market value for the Daytona . If you are tired w the blnr and hulk, and crave that Daytona, then go for it!
