It is gold alloyed to LOOK like a white precious metal. Thats why it was created...as a cheaper alternative to platinum.

Bottom line is, in my opinion...if you like it wear it but Rolexes white gold has an awful yellow tint to it because they don't rhodium plate it like 99.99% of other manufacturers of watches and jewelry. In the jewelry world and other watch brand world when the piece starts to show yellow through it gets re plated with Rhodium. Even Patek offers this.

I seriously think the biggest disservice to such beautiful metals as gold and platinum was the introduction of white gold. But I am a purist of sorts when it comes to rare metals.
No, but it is a precious metal, and IMO even more precious than yellow gold as it is mixed with a small amount of platinum.

Rose gold is not a red precious metal but it is indeed a beautiful precious metal.

For me yellow gold is a bit too much on a bracelet but white gold is perfect.

Exactly. I would prefer a WG Smurf or any watch over a YG all day long. YG IMO is too pretentious. Rappers and Guidos killed the YG thing for me. They are dripping in it.

With WG I KNOW I AM wearing gold and that's all that matters. All of our jewelry is WG or Platinum. The wife and I do not own any YG baubles

Plus we can mix SS with WG. Not a fan of two tones..It's like "Make up your mind"

And what are you going to do when they or other undesirables start wearing WG or platinum? Live your own life and not what little life they leave you.

I don't see that happening. Some people have to have real dripping gold gold. God forbid somebody thanks that they are wearing stainless steel or worse sterling silver. I was never the pinky ring type. Less is more.

Hi GP.

It's amazing that there are so many experts on the Forum that can tell the difference between Pt, WG and SS from a mile away but wives can't.

Add me to the list of those who can't tell the difference without knowing the model.
