Just back from repair...

Sent my 1968 GMT Master in to Alex at Alex's Watchworks in Portland a few weeks ago and just got it back today. Pretty happy with the work he did. It looks great. Happy to have it back.

The more I look at this photo, the more I am considering replacing the hands so they match the face. (The face was replaced back in the 80s by my stepfather after it got wet.) Anyone have an opinion on that? Any idea the cost of hands for this? Should I get newer hands that actually glow?

A really good shop could color match new hands, to the dial. You could try abc watch works, timecare in Florida, or Bob Ridley in Texas.

@ DrBardo
I'd go another direction: Source a '68 era dial and keep your original hands. Sell your existing 80s replacement dial.

That dial looks correct for a 68 watch, a long E dial the same as mine. I would get the hands colour matched to the dial.
