Panda Paul Newman dials

I saw a 6239 PN for sale with a Panda dial. I thought Pandas only started with 6262's? Is this correct or is it all legit? Thanks

If by Panda, you mean strictly two-color dial, I believe the 6265 was the first.

Mr. Newman himself wore a "Panda" 6239, which was a three-color dial.

Here's a great article with lots of good info:

For me, the term "Panda Dial" means that the sub-dials are the opposite color of the main dial area. The more common one is a white dial with black subs...

The "reverse Panda" would indicate a black dial with white sub-dials....

And, of course, the PN reference is to the rarer font on the sub dials...
