So I'm drinking coffee at the Starbucks....
...and it seems that my 1680 Sub in white draws other Rolex wearers like honey does to bears. In the past few weeks I've been approached by others who are sporting Rolex's and they all spot this Sub from a mile away. I'm used to my car getting all the attention but it appears like the watch gets it's fair share also. Mostly medical professionals and pharmaceutical reps seem to gravitate to me and comment on it.
I've seen theirs also (GMT's and DateJust) with quite a few saying they wished they had a Sub like mine for their collection. Anyway, years of me not having a Rolex and just now learning there are a lot of people who notice it. Like WHO KNEW? |

I've never been approached about any of my Rolexes - probably a good thing. Not sure how I'd react if it happened...

Don't really care for attention, probably why I don't wear much gold. So, usually if someone spots one of mine, they're probably a watch person. I'm happy to chat with them.

I've received 2 comments in 3 days on my brand new SubC.
Perhaps because it's so shiny new...? |

I always wondered what the protocol is….lots of times at work I meet chaps sporting nice Subs but I can rarely bring myself to draw attention to their watches, despite my interest.

Have you ever worn a panerai ? I was a averaging a comment a week. Sad considering the pam is so many rungs below my 1675 or 7021. The girls dig it though

This made me lol.
My 1675 has gotten all sorts of compliments from strangers. Everything from a flight attendant, to a socially awkward 16 yo proud of his new Seiko. He'd never heard of a GMT and so I dropped a serious GMT knowledge/history bomb on the kid seeing as he was curious and we were at an airport. I'm pretty sure he was seeing Pepsi all the way home. My Sub's only gotten lightly veiled snooty comments. Oh, and one grad school professor that stopped during his lecture to ask me if I was wearing a Sub. Least fun moment right here. |

In all the years I've been wearing watches I can't remember ever receiving a compliment or even a comment on what I have on my wrist. I quite like it that way.
