Are 1803 and 18038 Bezels Interchangeable?

Early 18038 cases have the same configuration as 1803 cases- a slight bulge at the crown position.

Are bezels interchangeable between 1803 and early 18038 cases?

And a related question - can 1803 acrylic crystals be successfully fitted to the early 18038 cases?

No, acrylic and sapphire crystals, entirely different.

You can use 18038 bezel on 1803. They are slightly different in profile but the higher profile 18038 bezel made for sapphire crystal will work on a 1803. It does not work the other way, 1803 bezel works only on acrylic crystals. As for your question about the crystals, I believe a member has done this, I would not recommend it but I believe it's a possible mod.
