You ever just make a low offer and buy it if the seller accepts? Knowing you should be able to get out at a breakeven/small loss (or profit) should you be unhappy.

Any stories of good purchases (or bad) are appreciated.
I almost bought an Explorer II in Amsterdam because the price was less than the US, I would get a VAT refund, and they offered me 15% off MSRP.

No. I've bought watches at ADs because the price was really really good though.

Yes I have and very glad I did. Wasn’t looking for it but it was a great price. It was a 36mm Rolex DJ, it opened my eyes to how great they wear on my wrist and led me to getting 36mm explorer as well. Ended up flipping the DJ though. Broke even.

You ever buy a watch bc the price is right?

I've spent countless hours in the past searching for the deal of a lifetime on many things including watches. What do I have to show for it? Mostly a lot of lost time and a handful of headaches and bad experiences.

I love to browse but when I'm ready to buy I'm happy with a safe fair deal. It's not going to be rock bottom but it will be less time consuming and my mind will be at ease. In the end that's more valuable to me than saving a few hundred bucks here and there.

I’ve bought a lot of unneeded crap, just because it was on sale and that includes watches. I’m a sucker for a good deal.
