Which would you choose? 14060 no box 16610 full kit

Hey guys.

Have an option for a couple watches

14060 (2004) 2 liner
No box or papers
$4450

Or 16610 (2007) full kit
$5550

Here are some pics. Never dealt with the seller before, he is also on my local classifieds so no feedback on any forums but has agreed to meet at a dealer. Please let me know if anything looks off

14060:

16610:

I personally prefer date on my watch (personal preference)
I wouldn’t buy a watch without papers myself
The 16610 looks overpolished to me
Better pictures would be needed to comment on other features

Thanks for the response! What specifically looks over polished? Here are some other shots from the ad

No B+ P? Great! Service History Unknown? Oh Boy! Below are my friend's photos of a great example of what a lightly polished 14060M 2 liner Flat 4 2002 Y serial B+P + Rolex pouch 98% like new with recent Rolex Service Papers worth US$5K should look like

Like others have said, you need to be extra careful with unknown seller- would have local dealer near you open case backs of the one you decide on. For me, while B&P is nice, I buy the watch condition and seller first . Have bought pre-owned w/ B&P and without but for those without, it has to come from a TS or a dealer I know. As for deciding between the two, I would first decide if you want date or no date. Then you should inspect the condition of the one you choose- if not good enough to you, then keep searching. With that said, the prices you listed above are actually very good compared to my recent searches of trusted sellers as well as my recent acquisition of a Y serial 14060M w B&P (see Megan’s pics). At those prices you can get a full service from Rolex, have the watch come back looking like new w service papers at a cost lower than most of what you see out there now. Good luck !

I would prefer the 14060, much cleaner

Having said that I would take condition and service history over looks. Neither of those examples look very good in those images.

Didn't the 16610 have the engraved rehaut by 2007? Either way, neither watch looks great to me. I'd personally pass on both.

The machining on the bezel of the 166160 is very soft meaning it’s been over polished. Compare bezel ridges and it will jump out at you. I value box and papers as well, so in your shoes, I’m still looking.

But if I had to buy one and didn’t care about selling ever, the no date is in better shape.

I’d get the 14060. I just have a thing for no date watches in general.

I prefer date but not the example you posted. Look at the crown guards. Thin pointy crown guards are a sign of a bad polish.

I'm in the camp of "neither looks that good" and would take a pass on both of them. Find one in better condition, preferably with service history.

The 14060 seems to be in great shape other than service scratches. I may pick it up and send it in for full service at the price he’s asking
