Alpina quartz accuracy

My wife gave me a beautiful Alpina Startimer quartz for Christmas and I love wearing it.

I have observed, however, that after synching all 4 of my quartz watches to the NIST atomic clock, the Alpina has the worst accuracy, by far. It is currently running about -2 seconds per day, 14 seconds for the first week after Christmas. My other watches, a solar powered Citizen, a 15 year old Pulsar solar and of course, my Raymond Weil are all much better, ranging -2 to + 3 seconds for the same week.

I have noticed, however, that on all the other watches except the Raymond Weil, that at the end of the week, the minute hand did not remain exactly on the minute marker, being either a bit behind or a bit ahead, whereas the Alpina minute hand remind perfectly lined up at the top of each minute.

I am not concerned about this but I am surprised the second most expensive watch was the least accurate.

With that said, it is a nice robust watch that wears extremely well on my wrist.

Happy New Year to you all!!!

So, now the Alpina is acting up. Last week I looked down and noticed it wasn't running. I pulled the stem out and pressed it back in and it's been running fine. So just now I looked at it and noticed it wasn't running. I pulled the stem out and pushed it back in and it began running. However, 1 minute later it quit running again.

Taking it to the AD tomorrow....sigh.....
