Howdy Adam! No I don't have it anymore. A forum member accepted it in partial trade for the SD4K. It was an sbga029, I think.

Reading all these accuracies makes me wonder. My DJ 41 has been running at +4 a day ever since. Should I get it checked?

edit: At night, it rests with the crown up.

The new DJ 41 probably falls within Rolex's new policy of -2/+2 seconds/day. Not sure when that exactly applies to recent models ....but (!) I do believe that if it is CONSISTENT then it is within the old adage of -4/+6 sec/day ....and so I would not worry as it is probably very consistent. Running +4 sec/day gives you the pleasure of "adjusting" it every few weeks.

With my AirKing which was just recently serviced (OVERHAULED $$) I set it "ahead" a few minutes, anticipating that it will eventually run behind. I think consistency is the most important factor to comfort those of us who obsess over a few seconds per day. If it ran erratic or was running +/- 10 or more seconds per day then I'd be willing to part with my piece ....long enuff to have it adjusted.

I think others have noted that the newer models are not as responsive to how it "sits" off-wrist overnite. There is a LOT here in this forum if you search under "accuracy".

Ridiculously accurate. Then again, a quartz chronometer from one of the top watch brands is bound to have those results.

Enter the 5-digit Sea Dweller, which led to the SD4K and more recently to the vintage AirKing. I wear two through a 24 hour rotation and usually that excludes the SD4K. Anyway, every Saturday, to satisfy my need-to-know I track the performance of these two against TimeDOTgov. ...keeps me grounded. Neither seems to vary by more than a second over that weekly average. The Sea Dweller runs +2 sec/day, the AirKing runs -5 sec/day.

Hope the pic attaches.
Such a pretty Air King! As a kid buying my DJ in '78 I almost went for the Air King but I thought I'd die if I didn't get that date window/cyclops. My buddy tried mightily to talk me into a Sub but my wrists are too thin and it looked stupidly large on me. Plus I didn't dive. lol

My 79 AK was worn from Thurs after work until Sun night. Night time it is resting face up. Just removed it and swapped back to my seiko, and the AK has lost less than 1.5s over the 3 day period.

I'm very pleased with it.

I was pointlessly upset that my DJ was losing 5s. a day. I've been checking the movement with the "Hairspring" app and it looks pretty steady. Yesterday I thought of checking it with a compass (Suunto) and what do you know, it easily moves the compass needle, and no small amount. So I have a cheap degausser on its way. Be interesting if that makes a (substantial) difference.

Interesting.
It's most often the case that when a watch is magnetised, it will speed up significantly.
Previous experience has revealed something in the order of up to about 20 seconds in an 8 hour period.

Please let us know how you go?

Mine is -2 on the wrist, +1 dial up. So I can basically self regulate it with little effort.

I will. Of course I'm hoping the magnetizing had retarded it but will see what happens. I've been in contact with Vanessa so a response to even greater slowness is in place. I'm never going to see fractional second error but cal. 3035 can certainly do better than I'm seeing now. (If you think about it these are still remarkable little devices; 5 s. off in 86k? I'd like to think this kind of obsessing helps drive the industry to further gains in performance of the technology. If it doesn't matter then just capitulate to the $6.00 Casio.)

I see a lot of screen shots of neat looking apps to help you track your watch accuracy. Which are you all using?

Both my GMT and Milgauss are always between + 0.00 - 1.50 seconds a day. Very happy with these up to par results.

Just checking in to say that my '78 DJ 16030 is still running a steady 6 seconds slow a day. Daily checks with the compass show no re-magnetization. I have no idea where it might have originally picked it up.

On the one hand, six seconds, when I really think the 3035 can easily do inside of 4, verses 'Hey, six friggen seconds a day? What are you, OCD or somethin'?'

This will stay as is or I'll decide out of the blue to send it off, pay a couple hundred for a couple seconds. It's a self-administered drug...

Usually around +1.2ish seconds per day for my Z serial 3185 16570. I find that pretty damn good for an 11yr old watch. I can regulate somewhat by storing with the crown up, with loses around 0.8 seconds per day.

For comparison, my 1863 calibre Speedmaster is around +3-5spd (obviously not as good but excellent for this movement and it’s tolerances)

Cellini

I wear my Cellini everyday, remove at night and lay horizontal with face up, which I read will make it run faster. Mine loses time, but I never really kept track of when I reset the time, but it was pretty often.

So that is about to stop. As of today, Jan 22, after reading this post, I will keep a log of when I reset the time so I can track it.

Very. 116600 runs at +0.5 s/d or so, and the 126300 has been running at close to 0.0 when its dial up. Any other position it loses about a second overnight. Can't complain.

I do not think it has the same results. Quite the opposite there are $ 30 quartz watches that are incredibly accurate all the time.

My new Seadweller 126600 is scary accurate. I mean, like a quartz watch.

Generally, I agree. That said, my TAG Heuer quartz is definitely more accurate than my Ironman and G-Shock digitals. The Breitling Aerospace I had (and regretfully sold) was marginally more accurate than the TAG, but not by much. My point being, the higher-end quartz models I've had outperformed the lower end ones in terms of accuracy, although all of them were more accurate than any mechanicals I've owned.
