While the Omega is a very nice piece, I find myself much more drawn to the 16750 personally. The real question is how you feel about it.

I prefer the 16750 gmt master over any Speedmaster. However there are some serious points to point out making this trade off.
1.) how defined are the chamfers on the gmt?(hard to tell from photos) 2.) do you mind the older Rolex bracelets? I don’t mind them when I have other modern Rolexes in the mix. 3.) you can always pick up the booklets and the box later own to help with the collectibility of the gmt. Plus with the RSC you will have documentation. I traded my Rolex yachtmaster 116622 with the blue sunburst dial for a gmt master ii Pepsi. While I loved the vintage feel of the gmt master ii, I also missed the hefty, refined feel of the modern yachtmaster. (I bought the yachtmaster brand new) I think your 1957 Speedmaster is an awesome watch but I feel they are priced a bit high in my opinion. I got the FOIS to fill the speedy void for less than 3k nearly new. |

What type of cost would it be to send this to an Independent watchmaker and fully serviced (someone very reputable)? Just looking for a ballpark if anyone has any idea.
Or if you know of one in NYC, that would be even better... TIA. |

I would make the trade. The Pepsi could be cool to own for a while. Should be an easy flip if you decide against keeping it.

Big fan of both watches (well the 16750 more the matte dial).....but I'd go for the 16750, I think it's a good trade. |

The hands look relumed. Look at both hour hands as well as color. Something to keep in mind. Looks like someone relumed the main hour hand after the original had a hole in it. Love vintage but keep in mind there is always unexpected cost of owning too. Comes down to how much you want it and if it's a good deal for you. Only you can make that decision. Good luck either way

The omega may be a LE but what’s cool about it is, it’s built to spec. Of the original. The gmt looks a little rough, I’d keep the SM.

Prefer the GMT over the 57 personally but I generally do not like Chonos much. Although, that GMT is not a great example IMO. Agree with post above $600 ish about going rate for a good CW21 independent service.
Appreciating asset versus depreciating asset. I know Megan says the Speedy will increase in value and I believe she knows her stuff; and it may increase in value, with the GMT you KNOW it will increase. I like Omega, but the endless LE's has kind of put me off the last few years.

Do the trade ... with regret towards omega lovers
limited editions are dime a dozen ... No offense to Omega owners but unfortunately you don’t run the company... so that’s that !!! |

That’s a tough one!
I’m a fan for the Pepsi but if your speedy is truly BNIB from 57!!! I wouldn’t let it go!!
