Is this a silly trade?

I have a 116238 all gold datejust that I was thinking about doing an even trade for a pre-owned 116503 2016 box and papers and a Turnograph 116264 old new stock still stickered.

I have always wanted a Turnograph and a Daytona. I do wear my gold datejust but it is super heavy on the wrist and has not been the most comfortable to wear.

In my collection I have a 37mm Yatch master on the oyster flex
Hulk
37mm Royal oak

Do it. I really think you want to based on what you said.

I would definitely.

Post pics when you do.

I would make the trade, especially since you've stated you don't like the weight of the DJ

I wouldn't make that trade at all. I think the solid gold datejust is a super cool piece and quite unique.

I think any trade with a grey seller, you are going to lose some money (they gotta make money) As long as it is reasonable and you like the watches, then go for it.

Do it. No reason not to, especially if the gold is too heavy. Also tends to attract the wrong kind of attention. Just my 2 cents.

Do it. You will regret it down the line when you find yourself not wearing the DJ.

Given you've said that whilst you do wear your DJ "...it is super heavy on the wrist and has not been the most comfortable to wear", that would be enough for me to get rid.

However, you initially say that "I have always wanted a Turnograph and a Daytona".

Seriously? Why are you even wasting time asking us on here? As long as you're happy with the numbers, JFDI

That gold DJ just exudes class, I couldn't do it. The other two aren't in the same realm to me.

If you don't like the DJ I would just sell it.

I would do it. The two you are trading for look great and you replace a watch that does not work for you. Good luck.

^This. That DJ is pretty special. Very unique. Plus, I don't like Daytonas or two-tone pieces in general, so half of that trade does zero for me. I like the TOG, but I'd keep the gold DJ in this case.

that gold DJ is a classic. if you havent had it for long id hold on to it and see if your tastes change in a few months. I go through phases where my favorite watch sits in its case for months and by the time i get curious about it i fall in love all over again. its a more timeless design than the turn o graph or tt daytona imo, so its worth the time to wait and see. but do what makes you happy- thats what matters most

Honestly....I don't think I would. As mentioned already you don't see a whole lot of gold DJs out there, so I would REALLY be sure those two are EXACTLY what you want before making the trade.

Good luck!!!

I can’t thank you all enough for your comments. I think I get a wild hair sometimes and need to be talked off the ledge. This watch is rare and finding it was not easy. And I am trying not to make decisions I will regret which is why I have not sold my Hulk yet...;)

I know these posts can be annoying to some. I also know I’m the only one who can say what will make me happy. But it’s nice to bounce things off an educated community.

I think I also got caught up in dealers telling me that was is cool but hard to sell if you ever want something else.

Thanks again for all of the feedback.

After looking at the pics, I think I would lean more toward just adding the TOG at some point...super cool watch. Not crazy about that particular Daytona and it looks a little rough, TBH.

I wouldn't do it for all the reasons mentioned above. All gold DJ plus jubilee bracelet would be too special for me to let go..unless it did nothing for me and I never found myself wearing it. Then I would move it, but for a Daytona in the condition that appears in the picture I don't think I would be satisfied

So haven’t done it yet? Thought you already went through it. To me the key world from you was discomfort due to weight. TOG obviously less heavy but the Daytona might be as heavy as the YG DD
