Is this a fair trade?

I'm trading a 2013 random series 116610LV hulk for a 2010 116520 daytona white dial and I'll be adding 1,200 on my end.

The watch comes with full box and papers

Condition of both being equal, as in excellent....I would say it's a good deal. To me, condition is the most important factor here.

Good deal if Daytona hasn't been polished and isn't dinged/dented.

Depending on how the watch is running you might have to factor in the cost of a service also.

I wish I knew how the condition is as I'm no watch expert and can't tell if the watch needs service by glancing at it. Is there a way to tell ? Also any tips on telling how the case or bracelet has been polished?

Thanks!

Can't post any pics at the moment. But as far as I see it has some hairline scratches on the bracket and case.

I would just wait, save up and buy a daytona

You will regret selling the sub - 6 months and you will be back in the market for a sub lol

And he can be back on the hunt for another good deal. A ceramic LV p;lus $1200 is a great deal if this Daytona is in respectable condition.

IMO most important considerations for you are (1) you're giving up the new style Glidelock for a the old style button clasp on the Daytona (personally prefer the new style) and (2) condition of the bezel. A bezel that has been polished reveals the overall condition. If very worn, bezel may not be a perfect circle (buffed on sides) and the numbers may not be super sharp and the black may have rubbed out. Also make sure the LEC is at the 6 - absence or misalignment of the LEC may indicate heavy wear and non-factory service. Good luck.

Thanks for the tips! I'll be sure to look into it.

Yes, I'll be giving up the glidelock mechanism but it's for the new style daytona clasp 78590 and not the 78490.

aside from from the LEC and bezel, anything else I should search for?

thanks!

That's great to hear on the new style clasp. I've seen some V serials that still had the button. So you're getting the engraved rehaut, fat hands and new style clasp. Sounds like a winner to me. For me the bezel is the best overall "tell" on whether the watch has been polished and if so what it was like before that. Good luck and please post pics when you can.
