custom rolex submariner
I'd like to buy a new submariner without the date model 114060. I like the look of it without the bubble on the glass.
However, as I already have a black steel rolex with date I'd like the new one to be steel and gold with blue face and blue ceramic. That is not made without the date. I cannot find a gold bezel with blue ceramic insert or the blue face. Any suggestions on sourcing? The parts need not be Rolex. I don't need to have the two tone oyster bracelet but I see that those are available and can be added any time. thanks dom |

If your only concern is the "bubble" (cyclops) get a date model and just have the cyclops removed or the crystal replaced with a plain one.
Much easier and still 100% Rolex...

Maybe find a watch from another brand? Sounds like Tag may have something similar to what you want.

No but the Cyclops is only glued on to the crystal surface and can be removed by heat applied to the Cyclops.

To me, the cyclops is a Rolex beacon. That's why I like the no date Sub. I've considered removing it from my ExII. I don't really care if it looks real. My watchmaker and I know it is and that's good enough for me.
To the OP, as many have stated, the easiest option would be to get the Blue TT Sub date and have a trusted individual remove it (who can guarantee his work) for you. Or get a service crystal and keep the original. Which is what I would do if you plan on, or need to sell it. |

..to each his own
On a side note, what about the warranty for modified rolex? Will RSC honor the warranty suppose they found that the crystal was removed by a third party? |

That's a good point and something to consider. I would imagine they would not cover it at that point since a technician outside of Rolex modified it. I may be wrong though.
