Advice on first sub

Hi,

Im about ready to take the plunge on my first Submariner but having a hard time deciding which model I should target as a first Sub.

I'm partial to the matte dials but also like the modern styles and have been looking at:

- 16800 with the matte markers
- 16610 models or even just go the full Monty blow my budget ceramic.

This is to go into a regular wear rotation with a Datejust as well as some other watches. I'm not looking for a vintage model safe queen. It is something I intend to keep as long as I can and pass down. It's also possible that I may pick up the second one down the road but not sure which one to start with. More modern or more vintage style.

Interested to hear everyone's opinions on where you may start.
Thanks!

for something you'll wear regularly and want to keep as long as you can and pass it down, modern ceramic sub is the way to go. but life is short, i would just buy whatever you like!
