Hour moves during minute slack

Good day. I've read from several threads that a slack in the minute hand is normal when adjusting time backwards. By slack, I'm referring to the tendency of the minute hand to move forward a bit after being adjusted backwards. I have the following questions based on some observation with my Submariner-Date:

1) I noticed that the extent of the slack varies. If I adjust time forward (maybe 30 mins - 1 hour) before adjusting time backwards, sometimes there is no slack at all. At other times the slack is equivalent to around half a minute and still sometimes the slack is one minute. Is this variance in the amount of slack (0 to 1 minute) normal? Or should the amount of slack be consistent every time?

2) I noticed that when the minute hand moves / springs forward due to the slack, the hour hand also moves a bit. Is this normal?

What you call "slack" is just the sum of the lash/clearance between the gear teeth between the hands. Would differ in different units of same design, different levels of wear... Nothing to worry about. It can't be totally eliminated as your gears would jam if there's zero lash.

Thank you tamiya and padi. So the slack on the hour hand is to be expected as well?

I just have not read of it and I've only heard of the slack on the minute hand.
