Squeaky Bracelet- year old watch

Hello all,

I come to you with a small issue. My sub is is a year old now and squeaking from the two end links like never before. I have given it a soap bath several times now, but that only corrects the problem for a few hours. The slightest movement produces an audible squeak.

I have heard of this issue on new watches, but pushing a year of almost every day use I would think it would be gone. My watch did receive a polish job, could that have anything to do with it? What other measures could I take to correct this?

Thanks!

Other than regular dish soap baths in fairly warm water and a good scrub to make plenty of bubbles between the links, I can't think of anything except some spray can Silicon lube with the excess wiped off afterward.

I would not try any kind of lube, it will solve the squeak but in the same time attracts dirt and thus will accelerate the wear.
That it is still squeaking after a year is a bit unusual. Though I would not mind if mine did. Still a sign of having a tight fit between the links.

On the off chance that some kind of grime is causing it you might try and remove the bracelet and clean it in an ultrasonic cleaner.
These things are sold very cheap and it is the best way to clean a bracelet because it will also clean the area's where a brush with soap will never fit. But is actually something which the guy who did the polish should have done after the polish

My Sub did the same thing the first month and I missed it after it stopped. It came back about a year later and then disappeared again.

I would say it's normal and it will go away eventually.

Ultrasound spa treatment. Probably caked up with rouge in the hard to see places.

Why was your watch polished if it's only a year old?

Just bought my 4th Rolex today, a new Air King and it has a slight squeek as well. It will probably subside soon or maybe try the dish soap and see if that helps but its not bothersome.

Silicone spray lube just leaves a big mess

My first goto for squeaky links is dry lube (White Lightning) or if that bottle is not near to hand, drip some molten candle wax onto the squeaky hingepin. Work it in before it dries/hardens, clean up the outside mess & squeak usually gone.

Maybe the soap you are using to wash it is causing it so squeak
