I don’t need no stinking AD.

Performed my first bezel insert swap on my 16710. Although I might have to change back to coke later for the UGA Auburn game. Go dawgs!

But is the insert aligned? Look at the insert triangle versus the minute marker above the triangle on the dial...

It looks ok I think. But I honestly didn’t pay attention to that detail when I was making the swap. But thanks for bringing that part to my attention. When I switch back to coke for the UGA game later I will pay close attention to that.

Yep, alignment looks off. Not that an AD would have done any better, or even offered to try.

Good job. I don't know why so many people fret about doing the change themselves. Of course, some people are also scared to turn a screwdriver to take a link out of the bracelet.

Where is the tension ring (washer)?

The tension ring is on the watch in the pic. When I 1st popped the bezel off I was puzzled. I was not aware of that piece. But I went to the following link for reference and it guided me:

The click spring came out on me too. But again the following link guided me through that as well:

http://www.instructables.com/id/Remo...Rolex-Submari/

So I think the click spring is only a problem if you lose it while poppin the bezel.

If I did a half job by not aligning the insert you betcha I will hear about it. Should be the same at every other AD or service center.

Cool. I just realized the GMT without a bezel at all is a fourth option for the GMT, a la Apocalypse Now. It kinda looks like an Exp. II.

Bas please dont take offense to thread title. My thinking was more in line with what “mtgjr” said about those even scared to use a screwdriver to take out a link. Im quite sure my local AD wouldn’t have made the same mistake I did. First time for me though. Misalignment wont happen again. Also it wont take me 20min to do it. As you can see from the time elapsed from the 2nd and 3rd pic. Lol

No offense taken at all my friend

My reply was meant for Adam, not every AD or service center is the same.

I was talking about ADs that don't have a watchmaker on premises

The Germans do it inside a clear plastic bag. I somehow ended up on a German watch forum and there were several of them doing it. With pictures.
