Usually one needs to send the item back before refund.

x2 Wear it like the worthless pile it is when working on the house, garden or the car. Though I detest fakes it is now in your custody never to be used to rob someone again. It would make a humorous beater being two tone and serve as a reminder of the time you almost paid good money for it.

Congrats! Why getting the BLNR instead of the 116613LB?

Excellent ! Very happy for you.
If you don’t send the fake back, don’t destroy it outright. There may be some scrap value in the gold if any part of the watch was actually real. It sounds like you may have gotten a modified / Frankenstein watch. If that is the case, some of the legitimate parts have value like a bracelet.

BTW, I appreciate everyone's input, even the hard ones. I certainly did not do enough due diligence, and I feel like this incident has taught me the very valuable lesson to be much more careful. If I get my money back, I will count myself fortunate, and I certainly won't make the same mistake again!

I will update again once I hear from Paypal.
Call the credit card company and stop payment at their level. That is what I do. As long as the paypal payment hit your credit card at the time of sale, the credit card company will put the money back on your account and make paypal wait.

just dont send it back to the seller. if the fake watch does
have some value, the seller desever this further punishment
on top of a refund.

No chance of anything from a real TTSubC finding its way into that thing. They're made to look ok for about a week.

To be honest, I'm not sure I can answer that. The look of the two tone just appealed to me when I first started looking and considering. But since then, that black and blue just really struck me! And I think the GMT may be more to my liking than the sub.....just maybe :)

Although I didn't get anything in writing on this, the one paypal rep I spoke to on the phone told me that if the seller did not respond to the claim in the allotted time (which he didn't) I would not be required to return the item.

The movement was an obvious fake, but the outside of the watch was sufficiently constructed to give even the AD pause. I know I was scammed, but I felt a bit better when the Rolex dealer wasn't sure of it's authenticity at first. I will keep it as a learning tool.

I've been mulling this over. I feel very grateful to the AD, but I also feel very grateful to this forum. I'll have to think it over.

Congrats Jim, glad it all worked out, financially, although I'm sure you had some sleepless nights.

I got burned on Chrono24 and went through the same process with Paypal. It took a bit of time, but I was refunded by them. It was stressful going through the process, so I can sympathize with what you are going through. Very happy for your positive resolution
