It's tough to judge. With a regular old Sub, box and papers is usually worth $500 or so. Chase at Nashville has one for $8349, but you're paying a premium for working with a reputable source vs. a private party. I probably wouldn't go higher than low to mid 7s. On a piece like a Kermit in particular, box and papers could make a big difference to its value later on.

Only thing that guarantees it’s a real 50th anniversary are the papers ,model number serial number don’t identify it,That being said I bought one without papers about 2 years ago for 5500,bought from trusted seller.Had it serviced at RSC recently and guess it’s the real thing, always wondered if some one hadn’t just changed the insert.

Model # and Serial # absolutely identify it.

I would think that there must be a master list of serial numbers

Correct to Rolex.

As well the model# is 16610LV or 16610V

On that note I would never purchase any Rolex for that matter without Box & Papers.

Hi Guys, this is good to know. $8-9k for a decent condition
LV without box and papers. I’m assuming then that with box and papers, one would be looking at $9k+, depending on condition.

Danny,

I'm confused. The LV stopped production in 2010. Are you suggesting that an influx of new SS models in 2018 will cause LV prices to go down?

Best,
TA

Obviously you must have confidence in the seller,if the prices quoted are without box and papers .What is value with box and papers?

I'm a little confused now , do you work for Rolex and know something we don't . Because I'm pretty sure that the 16610LV was discontinued in 2010 , unless Rolex have stockpiled them until Basel 18 & will flood the market with NOS of 100 thousands of flat fours

I would easily buy one without B&P, there are plenty of other identifiers, such as the biggest one of them all being the maxi dial....

I did not read the thread correctly ...I thought he was talking about the Hulk since there has been so much Hulk talk latley.
Now 8k seems fair for a Kermit without papers.

I paid 7 something for mine from David SW about 18 months ago. No box or papers but very clean. D serial if I recall. TBO, box and papers don’t mean too much to me for that particular piece. It’s actually the only watch I don’t have all of the box & papers for but I don’t mind. It’s also my only 5 digit Rolex.

Price is contingent on many things.

1. There are 5 variations of the dial tied to different serial / production dates. The most collectible being the Y and F serial with MK1 dials commanding a premium price.

2. Flat 4 Insert tied to Late Y and Early F serial models command a premium price.

3. Condition condition condition, safe queens command a premium price.

4. Box and Papers command a premium price, more so for the Y and F serials.

There are no engravings on the watch to differentiate an LV vs LN. The only differentiating feature is the Green Insert, Maxi Dial and Maxi hands. If you do take it into an RSC for service, they can authenticate the watch based your your serial number. So if you do buy an LV without Papers, the service card and receipt should suffice in authentication of a true LV.

For the right price grab it.
How ver, somewhere around 7 would be my max.

As far as the serial # I recall some (if not all?) where followed by a letter "V"?
