Which 1675 to Pick??

I recently found two 1675 both from around 1967-68. Just need your guy's opinion which one is a better pick? both? or neither?

The first one is on Paul's website (I am not allowed to post links but you can find more pics there). asking price $14k

The second one is from a friend and attached are some pics. The guy is also asking $14k so same price

I guess the main difference is the bezel and bracelets. Which one do you like?

Mixed bag for me. Both have their strengths. Cases and dials are about even imho, maybe your friends is a little softer.

The Bob's example has a more unique insert which is a big plus for me personally, but then you would need to source a correct bracelet/endlinks which takes this price up. .

Up to you if the price for either is fair.

For $14k save a little more and get a gilt dial 1675. IMO, that’s pricey for a matt 1675. Both examples are nice, the first example appears to have stretched lugholes, which would be a pass for me. Take your time and be patient, nice ones are popping up often at fair market prices. Best of luck.

Thank you for your input. Which one seems to have stretched lugholes and what do you mean by that? Bob's?

Guessing he means the first one which have small craters around the lugholes. Clear signs of a poor polish.

For $14,000, you should be able to find a very nice, correct, GMT 1675 without any issues. The one below is a good example of one for $14,000-$15,000.

I'd go with Paul's MKI, the case has not endured as frequent polishing. I do agree with another member's post, we are approaching gilt territory at that price.

Dude, buy this one. Seller is an authority on GMTs and this example clicks all of the boxes, its totally original and has an insert with great character.

I dont think 14k is all that close to gilt territory. A decent example you can trust is 20k. And you are going to get a later gilt example, which is OK but wont have an exclamation, radial, chapter ring, pcg...

Springer is the GMT man. I bought one a couple of months back and couldn't be happier. His stuff is super solid.
