I don't know how to properly convey my feelings on acquiring my first AP. This is sort of a big deal to me and quite the journey as I have wanted one for some time now but things kept getting in the way.

I came very close to buying a 15400 blue dial last year but about a decade ago my father got his watches stolen which destroyed him and I felt I should get him a timepiece instead of indulging myself so I ended up getting him a JLC Grand Reverso Calendar.

Fast forward to life getting in the way here and there with work and new housing and I lost interest in awhile as I kept wearing an Apple Watch for my active life. I always kept in the loop on the forums and other sites/blogs/youtube.

My first nice watch was a new Milguass GV and subsequently I picked up a pre-owned Speedmaster Moonphase on rolexforums for fun. I am a fan of all Royal Oaks but oddly the watch I had always coveted and often seen in boutiques and shops while travelling was the 15400OR silver dial on brown leather strap. For some reason the piece just spoke to me even though I am a huge fan of the bracelet and steel sport watch and odd because I never really cared for silver dial and brown leather strap combos. Every time I saw the 15400OR in the wild my mind would wander and I would be dreaming.

Fast forward to now I decided to buy a Royal Oak for real this time. I went and looked and was almost all the way there in purchasing a two tone 15400 41mm. It was much better in person and on my wrist than I thought. I went to the store to pick it up and by some miracle of God I looked in the case and saw this 15400OR black dial staring right back at me. I asked to try it on, inquired if possible to get a silver dial version instead and went home. I never even considered the black face version until I tried it on. It kept growing on me and 2 days later I went back and took it home.

TL;DR: Man falls in love with AP, can't stop thinking about owning one, goes out and buys one.

Sorry for the long ramble but this is one of those milestones for me and I am so elated I just can't accurately or concisely put down my thoughts.
