Pre war Oyster identification
Hello all,
I came across this website and was hoping for a helping hand in identifying a watch. My work friend has held it since he was a child, it was given to his father by his mother during WW2. From what I can find all I know is that it is an Oyster dated around 1940. Any help or any details would be great. Thanks |

Hi there,
You can find out a bit more about the Oyster brand, and see some more pics, in this thread: www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=477498 |

It's a cool watch! What a dial! The case is gold filled and the back is an early type of
stainless. It likely has a Rolex 10.5 ligne movement in it. It could be a Calibre 59 but I would bet on a 15 jewel Rolex in this. |
