This is a Diver worth making, IMO.

love the RG idea. Not sure on the rest of the color scheme. Reserving judgment on this one as it could be great.

Among the new Diver release, this one is considered quite decent looking. They should have gone for the ceramic bezel though.

good catch. I assumed it was grey ceramic. Ti, interesting but doesnt match the crowns. Ceramic, RG, and Ti might be a bit too much as far as materials on one watch.

But its notated that instead of the traditional black (ceramic) crown, on this one, while in ceramic, the crowns are grey. Should be neat I would think!

I think the colours scheme it’s something who depends on taste.
But this scheme it’s not for me! Because we talk about a Diver why they don’t put a ceramic bezel?

I’d have thought a ceramet, or whatever its called, bezel as used on the Schumi Ti would’ve been ideal. Looks good and much more scratch resistant than the Ti.

At first it looked like Lebron color and material scheme - rose gold and ceremet... but it is just a titanium bezel...

OMG. Its a purple diver and your question is if it has a display case back

Yes it does. The RG one does too. RG is Boutique exclusive LE of 500.

The Purple is also Boutique exclusive but not limited on production and only "limited" as far as the purchasers sanity. Thank god, as im boycotting the AP lounge so ill never see one.

Enjoy the trip. There really are some nice pieces mixed in with the releases this year.

Much better colour scheme than the previous tantalum one, but really should have been a ceramic or cermet bezel. Missed a trick there.

agreed. I dont understand the Ti choice if they were gong to do ceramic on the crowns anyway. I would still like to see it IRL as its intriguing.

Cermet would be the best, but that would have been truly surprising and AP is being a little bit predictable with their materials of late. They are on a Ti kick especially with all the Ti/Pt combos.

It’s the RG i maybe interesed in, but only because for me there’s little else. Trouble is i find it difficult to get past the carbuncle of the bezel winder at 10 o’clock. Never liked it. The Divers also seem quite plain and unexciting to me.

All in all I’m disappointed in the 2018 releases as there’s nothing that 100% grabs me - and i really did want there to be something...

try to get some pics when you are there. Im guessing the RG probably looks quite nice in person. I could see that being a good watch for you. You like RG and divers are awesome.

In person the crown at 10 isnt that noticeable. I really liked it on my diver.

Esp when they've finally put ceramic on the chronos, all a bit of a tease, I suspect next year.

Tough for us as the 44s had their day last year, this year was more about the 2 new ROs and CE 42s.

I also forgot about the crown on the Diver, not nearly so bad irl after a while.

According to Hodinkee, it's grey ceramic and not Ti?

I was really hoping they’d issue a more realistic price wise version of the 44 tourbillon with the skeletonised bezel and new pusher design. I’d have likely been all over that.

As i say, for me at least, very anticlimactic. Perhaps funds will be focussed towards ALS instead this year, unless AP pieces ‘pop’ IRL at SIHH.

I’d likely be interested in a 42, but cant get over the underwhelming, design wise, stick pushers.

it looked ceramic to me. Thats why i was fooled initially. That actually would make more sense too... but it still says Ti

Case Material: 18k pink gold and titanium

"Offering an Offshore Diver in pink gold with titanium bezel and grey ceramic screw-down crowns is clearly not the most obvious choice of materials for a dive watch"

According to that link, they clearly state the bezel is Titanium.
Even the rendered image itself is obviously Titanium, when you look at the crowns.

This would have been nice with a black strap, Black dial and black Ceramic bezel and crowns.

There’s a few mistakes on the AP site!

Listing the Ti42 as SS etc

They fixed the error from when I first opened the link. See the first comment.
